My poor boy was run over tonight , clipped by a car . Some lovely people picked him up and cared for him and I took him to the emergency vet . He's got a fractured shoulder and he's having a scan for internal bleeding . Please think of him , I don't know what DD will do without it.

We just called and the night shift nurse said he's happy , purring and affectionate which is a good sign ! Vet is ringing in a bit to discuss his treatment .

The vet thinks he might heal by himself as he's so young and is putting weight on it . The orthopaedic vet will see him again later and let us know. So relieved he's going to make it. When I had him in the car last night I thought he was going to die en route. Thanks so much everyone.

That's very good news. It sounds as though he's been lucky. What an awful experience for both of you though.

That's great news, I was thinking about him earlier as I watched my Black Cat sleeping in the sun - I'm so glad to read that he is on the mend.

He's just under a year cozie . Unfortunately he's a Houdini and despite being castrated will deploy several methods to leave the house . Especially pretend to be sleeping then dart out the door . He has a light up collar but didn't work last night .

Hope Big Dave recovers well. Huntercat got his front leg shattered by a car and had 4 months of metal rods and pins and cage rest.

He went back out gleefully afterwards and for the past 3 years has continued to bring me rabbits among other offerings so no slowing down!

Final X-ray this morning and then whatever the outcome he has to be in a puppy cage for 4 weeks for most of the time . That'll teach him Grin

Gosh he is so gorgeous, as black as night!! Poor boy :( maybe try a stair gate in the hallway if you have one, might slow down his darts to the door? X

Good for him. Smile Do you have a cage ready?

Report
KenDoddsDadsDog · 19/02/2016 12:46

Yes , my parents still have their puppy cage and it fits his bed , tray and has a good bit of room. Stairgate is a good idea !
Will post a pic of the injured soldier later on .

Glad to hear he is doing well. Our 3yr old tabby girl was hit by a car in September and had surgery for a ruptured diaphragm. I really do believe they have 9 lives!

He's going in the cage in a minute but he went straight to his chair for a sleep Grin
The lovely couple that rescued him just came round to see him. They were so nice , what a lucky boy.
