Kitten in the bath! Kitten in the bath! Does it get any sweeter?

MrsBertMacklin · 16/12/2015 21:36

I like that the markings on the B&W kitty make it permanently look like the OMG cat.

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 16/12/2015 23:52

The kitten in the bath is actually a very old stray I found dumped by a country road. He was covered in shit, dirt and fox fleas.

He had a lot of health problems along with being really, really old. Not much we could do for him but at least when he died he had a name and a home and a family. He had an awesome meow.

No further piss on my hob. Am pleased!!

I've been accusing the wrong cat!

THE WRONG CAT!

Just caught the culprit red handed pawed. She was quite shameless.

Shock

I've been accusing the wrong cat! I feel terrible.

:(

bigbadbarry · 17/12/2015 14:49

Lol. Sneaky.

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 17/12/2015 14:55

Poor innocent kitty.

Lemons didn't work then?

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 17/12/2015 15:00

The lemons were great. My hob is like sacred ground.

She was squatting and pissing down the plughole.

Hmm

Not ideal but I suppose it's an improvement. She must really hate stainless steel.

Confused

She's my special cat. Had her for over 10 years. I worship her.

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 17/12/2015 15:02

This is the culprit.

This is the worst miscarriage of justice ever. Did she have good aim though? plug holes aren't huge are they?.

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 17/12/2015 15:19

Her aim is impeccable. No complaints there.

:)

Was hoping my Feliway would turn up today. Hasn't.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/12/2015 15:22

Well a quick flush of hot water and it's all gone. I wonder if you could train her to use a loo?. I regret not training mine.

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 17/12/2015 15:27

Yes, I could cover my entire house except for the toilet with lemon slices.

Wink

Sounds do-able.

HemanOrSheRa · 17/12/2015 15:33

The photo's you posted have cheered me right up King. Who doesn't want to see pics of kittens cuddling. But fancy accusing the wrong cat Shock. You are mean Grin. Here is another cat who wees down the kitchen sink and in the bath if he's given a chance. He doesn't give a damn!

Suzy4321 · 17/12/2015 15:44

My cat did this. Just started to pee and poo on or near my side of bed. Now this seems harsh but it worked. I bathed the cat. He hated it. I was covered in scratches but every time he did it I scooped him up put his face near it said NO went straight upstairs under shower. Dried him off took him back to poo and said NO. Did it 6 times in total. Soon got message. Cats hate water I hate poo in my bed.

Told vet he said no harm just don't get it in ears. Husband thought I was bonkers but it worked.

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 17/12/2015 16:06

Maybe she has a uti?

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/12/2015 07:48

Out of interest what made you suspect innocent cat?.

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 18/12/2015 08:19

Out of interest what made you suspect innocent cat?

There was some fur left near the 'evidence'. I was playing detective. Blush The fur looked very dark, but not black (also have a black cat). So I made an assumption based on that.

Still feel bad. Innocent cat rarely goes in the kitchen and mostly goes to the toilet in the garden. This is why I was so confused.

It all makes more sense now...

Glad you've found the culprit Joff

Unfortunately unless you get to the root of why she's doing it, it will continue in other places. Most obvious reasons are social anxiety (if she usually goes outside has she had a fight with another cat and now scared to do so?) or a lack of appropriate alternatives (do you have enough clean trays etc) Please read the link I posted above. please do not follow Suzy's frankly disturbing and irrational advice posted above. Usually bullying, fear and punishment don't help anxiety. Also if you had followed this you'd have been punishing the wrong cat and likely creating even more problems.

If she's used to going outside then offering her a tray with soil/compost in the kitchen may help.

Does she spend much time in other parts of the house? I wonder if she's feeling inhibited from using trays if there are none in the kitchen.

This behaviour is quite common and fairly straightforward to solve as described in the link I posted earlier

QueenStromba · 21/12/2015 18:01

Our cat started weeing on the bed and sofa earlier this year. We dutifully took her to the vet who did urine tests and gave her a once over and said she was fine and it was behavioural. We gave her nutracalm every day and used a Feliway diffuser which seemed to work for a bit, we got more litter trays which also seemed to work for a bit, same with trying a new litter in some of the litter trays, she always ended up doing it again. I was sure that she wasn't just doing it for the lols but there didn't seem to be anything wrong with her. Then we found a tumour on her paw and decided on palliative care rather than amputation as she's nearly 18. We started her on metacam six weeks ago in case she was in pain and she hasn't weed anywhere but the litter tray since.

Anyway, I'm sure your cat doesn't have bone cancer as it's ridiculously rare in cats but it's worth making sure she's not limping at all, that there are no lumps and that she doesn't have any tender spots as well as the standard urine tests.

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 26/12/2015 18:11

We've had a row.

Sad

She peed by the kettle and I kind of flipped my shit.

I spent most of the day cleaning, house was sparkling and I was going to make some tea and saw it.

Yelled at her and she ran out of the kitchen and hid.

Sad

I feel terrible.

Have bought another litter tray for her. Is a small corner one which I can tuck next to the fridge. Not ideal but will be an improvement.

I feel like such a bitch. My little cat...

Time for a urine sample at the vets then. How bad was the shouting?.

Veterinari · 27/12/2015 20:26

Hope the tray helps

Try not too feel bad about screaming at her - it is frustrating, but remember she's not doing this to be naughty - she's doing it because she's stressed
Good luck
