all my new things have come for my kitten today and all set up ready and waiting.

Was supposed to have her tomorrow but the breeder has messaged me saying that she is not 100% confident that the kitten is ready due to picky eating so giving it an extra few days.

Wish I could pick her up now lol.

She is very lucky to have you. She will forever be greatful, (and you will be her slave).

cozietoesie · 09/08/2015 00:00

Poor wee scrap. There are lots of posters here who have had experience with very young kits so don't be shy to ask for advice if you need it.

Good luck to her.

BettyCatKitten · 09/08/2015 00:13

Poor kitty, I'm glad she has you to care for her.

PiperIsTerrysChoclateOrange · 09/08/2015 00:25

Little mite has learnt to climb up my legs ( PJ bottoms on) to snuggle in.

We have decided missy on a name due to the fact that every time I go out of the room to dare to go to the toilet or get a drink she miawing.

She has poo'd on the carpet cleaned most of it up and put some in her litter box and put ironing water to neutralise the smell on the carpet.

OP posts:

As cute as that climbing is be careful not correcting it unless you want a 5-7kg cat doing it.

My OH though this was cute when our kittens did it and now our big soft boy who ways 7.5kg and is 3 still does it to him. Cute to watch, painful to experience.

I'm so sorry this has happened, but I think this is a reminder to everyone about crappy "breeders" and how legitimate they can seem to the unknowing.

SacredHeart · 09/08/2015 08:54

Also for accidents pets at home do a enzymic cleaner. You need this as although we can't smell it anymore the cat can if the proteins aren't broken down. It's called simple solutions.

PiperIsTerrysChoclateOrange · 09/08/2015 09:15

Will get some tomorrow when I have the car.

She slept well last night and didn't wake up.

She has had her breakfast and is now cuddling ds who has given her some of her special teddies.

OP posts:
BeautifulBatman · 09/08/2015 11:00

You can use a mix of water and bio washing power - this kills the enzymes too

PiperIsTerrysChoclateOrange · 09/08/2015 11:29

Thanks for the tip.

Maybe have a read of this?

If Missy is 6 weeks old, then much of the advice is redundant but I noted that she didn't use her tray yesterday evening - any change there? - so her Mum may not have completed her training on that. Or not been in a position to train her.

How is she this morning?

PiperIsTerrysChoclateOrange · 09/08/2015 11:52

She is fine this morning, the flea treatment is working and found loads of dead fleas.

She has used the litter box this morning after I have kept her in the kitchen after meals for 1/2 hour as she has no choice then but to use the litter box.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 09/08/2015 11:59

Good that she's using her tray then. Cats are naturally very clean and organized animals so all you will likely need to do now is ensure that she always has a clear run to her tray. (Little innards not always being so good at holding on if a door is closed.) A second tray would be no bad thing for her and they're only cheap after all. I think Poundland-type stores usually sell them.

Is she to be an outside cat during the daytime or is she to stay indoors? (Keeping them in at nighttime is usually best because night is the most dangerous time for outside cats.)

Sounds like you're doing well. Smile

PiperIsTerrysChoclateOrange · 09/08/2015 12:07

I am truly grateful of every one who has taken the time and offered advice and suggestions.

This little lady means the world to me and she deserves the best I can give her.

I think an out door cat as we have a good size front and back garden. Not like she will stay in there but cats likes the out doors.

Will get a 2nd tray sooner as I was planning to keep 1 outside and 1 inside anyway.

Also a cat flap in which a chip is put into the neck of the cat like a microchip.

She will not be going out until she is sterilised and had her injections.

Ventured into the litter box on her own.

Can't wait no more.

The wee stick. Smile She's so tiny. (Either that, or you bought a litter tray the size of Wembley!)

PiperIsTerrysChoclateOrange · 09/08/2015 15:56

I'm size 5 and she snuggles into my slippers and they are too big for her.

I never sleep in the day, but with her purring on my lap we both had a good hour sleep.

Well I've always believed that Sunday afternoon snoozes with cat are an obligatory part of cat ownership. They're wonderful as well - just make it the bed next time. Grin

ShipwreckedAndComatose · 09/08/2015 19:32

She is adorable Smile

PiperIsTerrysChoclateOrange · 10/08/2015 10:27

Well she is using her litter box woke up to a nice present this morning awaiting a poop scoop.

She goes around twice a day and eats just over a pouch of whiskers kitten food. I also give her a small saucer of kitten milk.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 10/08/2015 11:35

If you've got a Poundland type shop nearby, see if you can get a cheap garden trowel - with their hard metal edges, they make ideal, and washable, scoops for trays. (As do flour scoops but they're less easy to get hold of.) Who knows but that you might have something like that in your garden shed if you have one.

Sounding good so far. Smile

cozietoesie · 10/08/2015 12:54

PS - given her age, I'm just a little edgy about the kitten milk - unless it's a special kitten formula that you've bought. (They don't get cow's milk of course - most cats are lactose intolerant and cow's milk can give them bad collywobbles.) In general, water is best so that they don't get a taste for anything else.

PiperIsTerrysChoclateOrange · 10/08/2015 15:38

It was bought in the pet store ( the milk)

She has came out of her shell today.

Every time she bites me I'm putting her down do hopefully she will get that if she bites then I will put her down.

Missy is very hyper this morning and is jumping off the sofa and getting back on, then chasing DS and will not leave him alone.

Watching them very closely as ds has autism and not sure how he will react to her invading his space.
