Ladies of the Litter! Petition for Celia Hammond in trouble

Evening all

Celia Hammond the animal charity has, for years, run a superb centre for Londoners, human and otherwise, that gives free medical treatment and rescue services for cats and dogs. But the local council has shut all their parking bays, which means that people staggering with cat baskets and injured dogs who can't walk can no longer make it to the centre as there's nowhere sensible to park.

This Change petition begs the council's mayor to reconsider. I don't know why it's in German either, but it does work.

TCN - the CHAT website needs to feature the petition more prominently. I only found it by accident when I was browsing kittens (Mr Cory was asleep, even so I felt like I was on one of those adultery dating sites. Grin.)

Get your web person to put a box on the right hand top of the home page and drop 15 words of copy into it that link to the petition. Then cut the explanation on the page down to something people will be able to read faster, and you're off.

PM me if you want the right copy, no problem. Although I like to feel my main career is as a heated seat for any feline, I have occasionally been known to employ other skills.

Thanks for those suggestions. I'll pass them on.

Signed.

Anyone else? It's more important than voting.

Bumping as yes, it certainly is more important than voting:)

Signed. In the meantime, is there any way a volunteer could run out and grab animals while people keep their engines running? I'd volunteer to be an animal - carrier if I lived anywhere nearby.

thecatneuterer · 08/05/2015 20:16

We do that - with injured dogs for example the staff go out and carry the dog in. But it's not really feasible for the majority of cases. in any case the owners need to be there too.
