What did you do with your dog's ashes?

My lovely girl died a couple of months ago. I have her ashes in the little box that the crematorium returned them in. I was intending to purchase a nice urn for them. However, I haven't been able to bring myself to choose one yet.

Im now wondering if putting them on display is just going to prolong the grief and upset me more. I lost my childhood dog many years ago and we scattered her ashes.

We climbed a Munro and scattered him at the top. He loved the outdoors and hill walking with us.

I've lost three dogs over the 30years I've lived in this house. I currently have all three of their wooden boxes in my display cabinet, but I don't want it becoming a mausoleum, so I'm thinking of burying them in the garden and planting a tree, like a pp has done. I might keep a pinch of each dog's ashes and have them made into a memorial item of some sort.
