@TheHungryHungryLandsharks Why have you missed out on sleep? Or has getting up at stupid o' clock every day caught up with you?

I hope you enjoy your secret chocolate stash. I needed diesel on the way home from the woods and impulse bought Minstrels and a box of mini chocolate chip muffins from the garage. The label says there are 16 in the box, but there were only 12 when I got home. 😳 😂

K had a walk of two halves. She spent the first half walking beside me, not straying far and always keeping an eye on where I was. The second half was spent running wild chasing deer scents and not giving two hoots about me. 🙄

Off out to take them all down the sea front. Where hopefully K won't find another dead shag and leg it across the field, so I can't take it off her. Bloody things are as big as her. She had to chase off a crow that was trying to steal it off her yesterday.

Ahhhhhh so lovely to see Milo! I honestly think of you often. How is he doing? I can’t believe he’s almost 3?!

Oh, I've missed out on all the waving across the medway today, I could have joined in. Safely back in the north once more now :-)

I've chomped through a bag of chocolate covered cashews on the journey home. Highly recommended

@SpanielsGalore@TheHungryHungryLandsharks thank you both, you are both totally right. He was definitely really stressed because he was such a dick all afternoon, would not stop barking at everything and wouldn’t go to sleep even though he was shattered. I’ve been out to do the big shop and he’s had a snooze and back to his normal self now. @SpanielsGalore slip lead is a really good idea, I’ll do that next time for sure!!

If anyone is near a Lidl they do bags of dark chocolate covered pistachios for about £2.80 and they are sooooooo good.

@YorkshireFelix good news on lowering the sessions! Sorry to hear it was a stressful one. I guess everyone (and every dog) has their limits. I know I can snap under the right conditions 😂

@SpanielsGalore I was going to say ideas above her station but she seems to be managing very well in that photo!

@TheHungryHungryLandsharks don’t blame you for skipping the evening walk. Chocolate in the bath sounds amazing. I have also fancied having a cocktail in the bath but I only own a shower.

@Redspaniel I don’t remember you as I have never spoken to you before 😀 but your dog is gorgeous ❤️

We had an uneventful walk today which is a very good thing!

I’m partial to a honey roast cashew nut myself.

I don't like nuts, but DC swear by Lidl's chocolate cakes.

@VanGoSunflowers It's actually quite funny to watch her trying to run away carrying it. And the crow that came for a taste was nearly as big as her too. I thought I'd have to go and save her from it.

Can't believe P is 10 months already. Glad he's behaving himself on some walks.

@Redspaniel Milo is gorgeous. 💖 Nice to have another spaniel on the thread. The labs were beginning to take over. 😂

I wish I had followed HHL example and skipped the evening walk. 🙈
K found a dead bird on the beach within 30 seconds of being out of the car. A more manageable sized black tern this time (I think). She spent the whole walk carrying it around. She left it once and I managed to grab it, but she swooped in and grabbed a hold. We then had a game of tug of war, which she won. Second time I got hold of it, I threw it into the estuary. But N thought I had thrown a ball and plunged in to retrieve it for her. FFS
She still had it by the time we went back to the car and I had forgotten to take treats with me, so couldn't do an exchange. And there was no way she was coming near enough for me to grab her. So I used that last resort tactic parents do with children. I put the other two in the car and pretended to drive off. And unlike DD1, K cared about being left behind so came running.

I think I deserve wine and chocolate whilst I am in the bath. 😁

Yeah, I got banned ages ago ha!

I won’t ask about the banning 🤣 V is ok! He’s still a bit of a shit but very much less of a shit since he turned 18 months. He’s 20 months old now which is crazy. How is Milo? Did you ever get anywhere with his leg issue? @Bupster and @brushingboots still pop up here every so often.

Handsome boy! That is good progress. V is not a fan of the car at all either.

Sorry @YorkshireFelix that sounds incredibly stressful, for both you and Vinny.

Poor Twatdog and his little knapsack, but at least he has a knapsack full of treats, so he’d be happy for a while at least.

We had a childhood dog who used to periodically leg it into the blue yonder. He would return a few days later scratching to be let in and carrying mysterious scabs and scars. Once he was brought back by a police car so I reckon he had a lot of adventures.

Chocolate covered cashews you say… interesting! I currently have a toblerone in my stash, which is kept hidden from the rest of the family.

@Silverbirchleafoh he is a handsome boy! How old is he? How long have you had him?

@YorkshireFelix- I got banned for calling a woman a nosy bint for spying on her neighbours and giving them grief (sore spot for me 😂)
Milos legs are nowhere near as bad as the first vets told us- diagnosis was correct but he doesn't need surgery just yet - we can divert it until he slows down abit (enough until he can manage crate rest)

@SpanielsGalore just lots on my mind which is making me stressed and so not sleeping! We’re midway through cuts at work and got out recent departmental cuts (40+% budget, so at least it’s not headcount) so trying to work that through is…challenging!!

I did enjoy my chocolates! I only meant to have one, but then I ate three 😂 ended up leaving the other for DH as I knew if I didn’t give it to him I’d just gobble it in the night.

It’s awful you were stolen from!!! I hope you returned the pack and expect some were missing…

Naughty K!!! I bet she was completely unapologetic as well. And N aiding and abetting her 😂😂

@VanGoSunflowers the problem with cocktails is they’re too easily drunk! When DH and I went to ‘our’ restaurant (aka the one we go to every time and they know our name and faces despite the fact we live 200 miles away) in Norfolk last time, I was completely sloshed before we’d had our first plate of food. I fear in the bath I’d never end up getting in as I’d have drunk it all before I’d left the kitchen!

@tizwozliz any exciting reason you were down in the south? Or just hoping to get a glimpse of a stray Twatdog being hurled? 😀

@Silverbirchleaf glad to hear you’re making progress! Does he get in himself, or are you hoisting him in? Ever since his ‘moment’ a few months ago, Twatdog alternates between jumping and making me pick him up!

@Struckbylightning given what a little chunker he is, I’m not sure the bag would last long. He’d probably reach the end of the driveway and have run out!

Ohhh I bet he did! Imagine the stories the police could have told about whatever he was doing when they found him!

Chocolate covered cashews are delicious @YorkshireFelix. I am also partial to a chocolate Brazil nut, but I often end up choking on them when they crack. Glad to hear V is a bit better. Poor boy ❤️

@Redspaniel hi! Not sure we’ve met before, but Milo is beautiful.

DMum just collected the rabble (minus DWS) from DH and I at the station. Apparently Twatdog cried the entire way back to her house and is still crying now (15 minutes later).

@TheHungryHungryLandsharks Just a funeral unfortunately, a flying dog would certainly have lightened the mood 😂

Poor TD. Big pup is a crier. She was most upset when the OH went open water swimming (6 degrees 🥶) at the weekend, not sure if she wanted to join him or rescue him.

@Redspaniel - glad to hear Milo is doing well and his knee? problems weren't as bad as you were first told.

It was dry when I arrived home last night, but the rain is here again now :-(

It does feel relentless this year but I'm not sure how much of that is just perception, I had this pop up on my Facebook memories from 2 years ago yesterday.

@SpanielsGalore Naughty N! I have to say though, I’m sure it wasn’t amusing at the time but the way you tell these stories does make me smile - especially the part about pretending to drive off 😂

@Redspaniel before I read the context I was going to say I bet the ban was for essentially nothing, especially if you were posting in the ‘other place’ (affectionate term for the more toxic boards on MN!)

@TheHungryHungryLandsharks sorry to hear work is stressful! It’s been full on where I am too but I just used the last of my annual leave to book some time off in March after all my current deadlines are hit. I’m partial to the odd cosmopolitan myself, which is odd as I am usually a wine or beer or whiskey person 😂

Hello everyone 👋 I don’t have the brain power to read and keep up with all the previous posts but just checking in from the puppy thread and I recognise a lot of names from there. Rory is 9 months old now so definitely an adolescent and still a very good boy 🥰. Here he is looking gorgeous and telling me it’s precisely 10pm and therefore bedtime!

@VanGoSunflowers Pablo looks so much like my Billy 🥰💔.

Oh wow I am so pleased it’s not as bad as you were told! I know you were devastated about the whole thing. V is doing ok - we’ve been up and down with his leg but he’s having hydrotherapy and physio/laser sessions now which are really helping. We’ve had a few very long periods of strict on-lead walking only which bored the hell out of the both of us, but he’s allowed his freedom again now 🙌🏻
