I swear to god, I took him in and he just went straight with the groomer, no goodbye nothing. He's anyone's this dog

Awww, what a good boy. I bet groomers have to deal with some nightmare dogs...

We're doing okay except that she seems to be getting more and more stubborn 🙄

They are ok.
Not half as bad as the first vets "claimed".
We got a 2nd opinion.
Surgery is an option and will need it although are not recommending it for his grading.

Aww Milo looking very handsome! He looks so different after a groom!!

I am very very proud of my girl today because she slowly ate her dinner tonight, lying down with our cat sitting right beside her. I expect the hound people would tell me that is highly irresponsible, because my feeding techniques are incorrect and outmoded. Apparently. But, I am happy that have I reared another puppy who is not food possessive, and who will allow our sweet little cat to watch her eat and approach her bowl. Brie has beautiful manners and for that I am a proud mama 😊

But now I seriously need to 🤐 and get out of The Doghouse... 😬

How dare you allow your cat and dog within 1 million ft of eachother whilst your dog is eating.
YOUR techniques are absolutely spot on and I do absolutely the same minus the cat because I don't have one.
People are so anal....
Milo is a good boy but a royal pain in the arse, he still mouths constantly even at 22 months old 🤣🙄
I suppose if anyone knew that I don't know what I'm doing and I should put my dog up for adoption 🤣

Oh thank goodness! Secretly I am glad that Milo is still mouthing because Brie is too and I was getting worried. My husband gets annoyed with me because she still likes to "hold my hand" on the way back from a walk. She is very tactile but it's sometimes embarrassing, so I'm relieved that Milo is still mouthing too!!!

It's funny but when I'm on MN I feel like an unfit dog parent but away from here I'm fine, capable and coping.

But I think I basically have a nicely mannered dog in many ways...

@Deanthebean Milo is GORGEOUS. I'm hoping Bill starts to look more and more like him now his grown-up coat's coming in - his fur's getting much longer around the neck and shoulders as well as his feathery bum, he's getting little tufty ears, and I'm still hanging on in hope of a fluffy chest like Milo's!

Bill will start coming through soon, it took Milo ages then just started getting hairer!!

Apparently his half brother, who's a full cocker spaniel, was just the same - not at all hairy then started growing fluffy bits everywhere, including what the neighbour describes as 'ball curtains' 😄

Vinny has a fluffy chest too, I love it. It didn’t really grow until the past couple of months and now he’s very hairy. Desperate for a groom really! He also has curtains around his bum and they are really long 😄

Midge has fluffy balls. The groomers give him a ‘hygiene’ cut so his bottom has a close shave and sometimes his balls too (I prefer his balls to have a bit of coverage 😝)

I cannot possibly comment further, having, as I do, a girl who is occasionally a bit whiffy because she wees on her pantaloons 🙄

Oh my god 🤢 'Ball curtains'... 'pissy belly'. No. Bitches for life!

For reference we scissor off some of pupsy's longer hair round her bum but more so that she doesn't get sticky weed/grass seeds/those annoying sticky buds stuck there. Have never smelt her down there haha. My mum insists that I should take her to the groomers but I refuse and just hand strip her fluffy legs myself and use horse brushes on her body because after all she is just a small pony.

I use a washcloth on Brie if she gets whiffy pantaloons, but she is generally very good at keeping herself clean these days. As a tiny pup it was more of an issue for her. With a natural moulting breed we don't really trim or cut but she really is incredibly hairy. Trying to brush her armpits is particularly challenging.

Although she doesn't run off lead, she will still come back from a walk covered in grass seeds and bits of vegetation. Burrs and goose grass bobbles are the biggest problem. We always check her out after a walk, pick bits out and run a slicker brush over mane, pants and tail, where the coarser fur is. She is never really showring clean but I don't mind them looking a bit rough. They are a real robust working dog, despite looking pretty.

Too warm for her today, so she's come back in to lie on the tiles.

As we've not been active on this thread for a while also I'd like to add,
We can leave Milo for up to 4 hours at a time now on his own.
It's made my life so much better/less stressful.
We of course watch him on the camera and he's absolutely fine.
I've just popped up to my mum's for a cuppa and I still feel "guilty" and I keep checking the camera and he's fine.

@Deanthebean it makes life 100x easier when they can be left! I think I was very lucky that V seemed to be fine with being left when we first started doing short periods to build it up. We can leave him 4 hours now too but I’m the same in that I check the camera constantly and he’s always just snoozing on the sofa 😂
