Puppy zoomies ... I'm not sure my poor heart can take much more!

Jesus Christ is it just mine or does everyone's puppy scare the living shit out of them when they have the zoomies? The speed, whacking into things. I feel absolutely sick with fear every time he has them!

For context - he's 11 weeks old and we've had to restart his vaccinations so we're housebound/garden bound for some time yet so it's difficult to get him to use up all that crazy energy. Border terrier too so I think prone to being extra fearless.

Anyway - just hoping to hear this is normal and won't last forever. I'm going to have an ulcer in a few months at this rate Confused

I have to hold a cushion infront of me when my Patterdale terrier gets going, he uses you as a spring board.

My old Patterdale used to do this! If you were slow on the uptake with the cushion, your sternum was used instead, no qualms about it!

This has actually reminded me of one occasion...she had the zoomies, on a hill, water run gravel track...tied the long line round me, I couldn't untangle quickly enough, my feet went out and she dragged me 30 ft face down, head first down the slope, it hurt..a lot...cuts, grazes to my face, head, arms, hands and knees...I was a sorry sight walking back to the carpark....to meet the dog trainer who was meeting me there for a consultation! 🙈

Crikey! That hurt just to read Confused hope you weren't sore for too long after!

I walked like John Wayne for a week and explained frequently at work that I hadn't been mugged or a victim of DV!!!

Ouch! I've got a scar on my ankle from when DDog was a puppy and suddenly sprinted off while on a long line. The line wrapped round my ankle and the resulting burn took a chunk of skin out 😫
