For weeks we have searched rescue centres for a youngish family dog. We've tried RSPCA, Battersea, Dogs Trust, Many Tears, Bordercollie Trust, Collie rescue, local rescues, much less local ones

Please can some one think of anything that might help. The last two I spoke to said they had absolutely nothing in but young dogs with behavioural problems (often lockdown related) and big breed dogs/ greyhounds. We have such a dog shaped hole in this house. We'd love to fill it. Has anyone any suggestions please?

@Slowslowreader not sure if you are sorted yet but EGLR have a young , partially sighted spaniel looking for an active home and all their dogs are in foster homes so not coming from a kennel environment.

If you are still looking, try Safe Rescue for Dogs. They are based in Norfolk. I got my present rescue Toby from them 7 months ago. He is the kindest, most gentle dog l have ever had. They will match you to a dog which suits your lifestyle.
My late husband and l had always had rescue border collies but as I'm now on my own and older l felt l couldn't keep up with one. Toby is a mixed breed, and so full of love that he has made my life complete.

@Slowslowreader I know this was started a few weeks ago, but I follow Blackretrieverx on Facebook. This young girl popped up, and I thought of this thread. She is being fostered in the Midland it does say she can't rehomed with children but based on her description she seems like she would be ok with visiting children. https://www.facebook.com/BlackRetrieverXRescue/posts/pfbid021ng9f1BoTLkh1XS9s73jbzszYy7PN9PUyQ3bGLo1WGuwpSbVRxVpkuK7JV4wEdUCl
