What container do you put your dog treats in for when out walking?

Just that really.

I currently have them in a round Tupperware tub but though it’s not especially big, it takes up a bit of space in the bag where my gloves and extender lead go, and it’s too big for my pocket in case I want to give her an emergency treat for diversion tactics.

I hate using zip lock bags and want something similar idea to the Tupperware tub which keeps the food fresh, just not too big.

Photo added of the current one.

I used to use a fabric bag with a draw cord at the top. I managed to drop it during one evening walk and found it the next day quite chewed and all the treats gone, Surprise surprise!
I now use a metal tin you get free with sanitary towels. It's flat but not too flat, stays dry if the rain gets in my pocket and the added bonus I can tap on it and shake it to get my dogs attention when she is off in lala land sniffing. Plus, it's nice and easy to clean if we've used sausages or cheese as treats.

Tin like this but a different design

Nothing - I don't give them treats when we're out, nor in the house either really - mean dog mum!

😮

Actually, having seen this, I’ve just realised I have a similar tin. It’s one of those retro ones with the Colman’s English mustard design logo .

I’ll dig it out and use that , thank you 😊

We use a rubber treat pouch that clips onto your pocket or belt. Its easy to access, washable and has a magnetic clasp which holds it closed. Amazon I think.

This one.

My pocket. Biscuit marrow bones. Each dog gets one on the way and one on the way back if they sit nicely before crossing the road.

ThePure · 29/01/2024 21:49

We have the same one as Meceme

I take bits of chicken, cheese and sausage out for training rather than dry treats so need something easy to clean and that can go in the fridge in between walks

Meceme · 30/01/2024 18:22

It works very well and is easy to operate with one hand. Also easy to clean.
Young male lab in need of a LOT of training 😳

I use reusable baby food pouches and fill them with squeezy treats like peanut butter, yoghurt, puréed fruit, pâté, cheese. Fits in my pocket easily.

Tube of primula if you can get a flick lid for the tube even better
