Daisy loves Mr Monkey Man.... he's bigger than she is

Not for long!

She's going to have a fabulous coat.

This, 100%

They stay tiny puppies for about two weeks! We got ours at 10 weeks, now at 18 weeks he’s 17kg!

Tilllly · 19/02/2024 10:14

She's off to the vets today for her check up and first injections

🥰🥰🥰
How was the vet trip? Hope they didn't scare her 🥺

Tilllly · 19/02/2024 12:58

It's at 2

I'm confident they won't scare her because they usually have pockets full of treats

And as a PP warned me, she is a stomach on legs

My golden loves the vets! She gets fussed over and she gets biscuits. She nearly pulls me over trying to get in!

blewpew · 19/02/2024 13:46

I'm going to have to follow this..a golden retriever has always been my dream dog, DH says not yet, maybe when the toddler is older.
We have a Maltese currently, hes beautiful but a bossy anxious little gobshite.

feelingalittlehorse · 19/02/2024 19:37

Oh god- my labs are the same. Vet= snacks. I get dragged in at 100mph. Genuinely never met any dogs so keen to be injected 🤣🤣🤣

SomethingSimple · 19/02/2024 19:59

I've fantasised about having GR but circumstance means I don't have the space or time they would need right now. So, I read this entire thread ti live vicariously and have loved it. Your Daisy is adorable. I'm so happy for you. I wish her and you a long, healthy and happy life together.

BirthdayRainbow · 19/02/2024 21:17

Be wary of too many treats. GR are known for delicate tummies. Mine has been sick when given too many different treats - soon learnt to say no to people - and one Christmas when I bought her a ridiculous chew.

SirSamVimesCityWatch · 19/02/2024 22:14

Oh yes, for sure. The vets is the only time mine gets biscuits! Poor thing. She has always had a delicate stomach, even as a puppy. On the upside, we have found that the best food for her is a totally basic dry food from pets at home so she's cheap to feed. She gets the odd little bit of toast crust but that's it, or it's a poop-tastrophe.

Mine (5 months) is clearly faulty. He’s eaten mouldy bread, a full snail complete with shell, a manky tissue, mud, and god knows what else and never even the hint of a loose stool!

”Leave it” does not work for him on walks. He is a nightmare. I spend half the walk fishing things out of his mouth and the other half eyeing the way in front to make sure there’s nothing he can try and eat!

Dog trainer is coming Saturday…

SirSamVimesCityWatch · 20/02/2024 19:09

Oh god I've just remembered the springer spaniel I had growing up ... Must have had some French heritage because she viewed snails as some kind of delicacy 🤢

Daisy spam @LuciaPillson just as soon as my Mumsnet sorts itself out

Apparently, I am on no threads, and I have no photos

Oh 😥 that's why photos stopped coming 🥺🥺🥺

Riverlee · 21/02/2024 11:58

My lab loves the vets also. All those smells, treats, other dogs, etc.

Waiting patiently, not…!

“Daisy, Daisy, more pictures, please do,
Mumsnet is half crazy, all for the love of you”

It turns out Daisy has got two microchips in her. Even the breeder doesn't understand what's happened, because one of the numbers isn't registered to them.

I registered her with the number that I had, and I had seen them scan her and knew that was the right number. But then at the vets a different number came up.

We took her to another vet who scanned her and found both numbers

So I am probably going to have to register her twice

Adorable.

Bionic pup!

Haha!

It does improve with age, ie. Less frequent. Also, we found switching to a better food improved the nature of the poo. Ie. Firmer and less smelly.

ilovesushi · 21/02/2024 22:10

That is so weird about the chips. Maybe there is a puppy somewhere without a chip who the owners think has been chipped but it's in Daisy instead?! Can they check the number for you to make sure it's not already in use? Can they remove one chip or would that be painful/ too invasive?

She is a gorgeous little dot!
