DDg1, 5yrs, always known to have poultry allergies.

DDg2, 3yrs, always been fed on same food as older dog as its just easier.

They've been through so many food as they just go on strike and refuse to eat.

I have a new pup who I put on orijen chicken and DDg2 really liked it. So I bought her a huge bag of the adult version.

A month/6 weeks or so later she's got anal gland issues which she's never had and is non stop licking her feet

Vet reckons she's got chicken allergy too, we just never realised as she never really been fed it much because of her older bro

Plus the older dog keep nabbing chicken food from the others during meal times.

I now need to find something poultry free all 3 can go on but the pup is only 4 months old, so need puppy?

I can't have them on different foods as they all just want what they're not supposed to have 🙄

Any ideas?

Please don't suggest raw feeding or butternut box etc, they've been on it already and I've moved and no longer have the space to keep a dog specific freezer and it's juts too expensive for 3 dogs.

Millies wolfheart have a large variety of different flavours and if I remember correctly can he fed to both adults and puppies (but do check).

tabulahrasa · 27/07/2023 10:12

If you compare the nutritional info for puppy food with the adult version, there’s honestly not much difference.

So no particular recommendations but I’d just use adult food for all of them.

KathieFerrars · 27/07/2023 10:24

Wolfworthy is good.

Wolfworthy is good.

It's main ingredient is chicken.

Pooch and mutt?

How about the Orijen regional red? Says it’s suitable for all life stages including puppies (except Great Dane puppies below a certain age).

ThrappleApple · 27/07/2023 11:13

What type of dogs? Large breeds are more likely to need special puppy food.

GroutScrubberExtraordinaire · 27/07/2023 11:16

Fish4Dogs?

As the name suggests, it's fish based.

ThrappleApple · 27/07/2023 11:16

Forthglade do some cold pressed dry food that is free from chicken and suitable from 2 months.

IngGenius · 27/07/2023 11:20

Millies have a massive variety - most dogs will find one they like (Millies will give you samples so you can try them really rare for dogs to turn their nose up at all of them)

Loads without chicken and suitable for puppies.

They have over 20 varieties without chicken

Fish for dogs
Have fed five dogs on it, one with apparent allergies ( according to a vet although I never believed it)
BTW allergy dog ( lamb and chicken) either never had it or grew out of it and stopped licking her feet after a few weeks and never did it again

ThrappleApple · 27/07/2023 11:27

Things like Fish4dogs have puppy and adult food, so you'd need two types but it wouldn't be an issue if older dogs snaffled some of pups food.

Eden Fish Cuisine might work too, although they seem to ekep changing their mind on whether it's suitable for puppies

Ihaventgottimeforthis · 27/07/2023 11:32

I'd say re-consider if you can make raw work. It can't be that expensive for three small appetites, even if it does mean frequent purchases. my DAF for one 25kg dog is about £1.50/day.

I don't want to do it. I don't like it.

I really need something they can all eat.

Even with the same food (orijen pup and orijen adult) they were constantly trying to get the other ones food like it was better. They knew the difference!

So if there's something everyone can just chow down on without me trying to herd them like a sheepdog to their own bowls that would be great.

The pooch and mutt one says suitable for over 8 weeks

Idrankyourbananamilk · 27/07/2023 11:50

The Orijen one is suitable for both puppies and adults.

ThrappleApple · 27/07/2023 11:51

Check with Eden about if suitable for a small breed puppy and that would work. The forthglade previously mentioned as well. The latter is more likely to be stocked in shops if that's a consideration for you. Although the size of the forthglade dry food might be an issue for small breeds. Think Eden do multiple sizes of kibble.

kitkatkat · 27/07/2023 11:56

Canagan do a small breed kibble for puppies and adults - at least 2 flavors that I think are chicken free - country game or salmon.

Buell · 27/07/2023 12:07

Idrankyourbananamilk · 27/07/2023 11:50

The Orijen one is suitable for both puppies and adults.

The regional red is £110 though 😭
