My dogs have stolen my surgery v pillow

If the cat’s asleep on my pillow during the night I move further down the bed rather than disturb him

We have a rule that whoever is holding the dog is exempt from fetching and carrying until dog chooses to move.

It’s the law you must stay put. I feel your pain!

Yesterday I was starving but couldn't get snacks as my dog was asleep on me. Luckily I had my phone on me so I called Dh who brought in food. At that point, she smelt the food anyhow and got up!

We have this rule too! My husband hates it as I always have the dogs on me so he has to fetch me things 😂

Totally, DH once refused just out of the oven biscuits in case the smell, his chewing woke the dog from his ‘much needed’ rest. Our then very elderly snoring springer spaniel was also crushing DH’s legs. DH has spastic paraplegia and pressure on his legs is painful but I was told to leave them alone…. Fair enough more biscuits for me….

You are doing the right thing, a UTI can be sorted with a trip to the doctors (😉) your gorgeous bundle cannot regain those lost minutes of napping ;). Cavalier King Charles spaniel?

Oh yes, when he was younger, because he needed a minimum of 16h sleep and he's a springer with fomo so absolutely refused to sleep unless locked in his cage, and even then he whined to be out.

So whenever he was asleep we tiptoed about and if he slept on us we had to sit there for at least 90mins to up his quota.

His behaviour was off the scale if he didn't sleep

11mo now and if he's asleep on me (hardly ever - he's not a lap dog) I move if I need to.

Yep, we have a rule of you can’t move if the dogs on you. The other day I reminded DS it was his turn to unpack the dishwasher and he managed to play this rule. (Dog never sits with him usually so I it was nice he got to say this!)

YABU even asking, it's an obvious unspoken rule in my dogs minds.

This is him (post dip in our local river, because as a cream dog, he must be muddy & wet at any given moment) and before his groom on Tuesday. And it’s taken me 1/2 an hour to type this as he wouldn’t let me love my arm to type 😂

Same here, we agreed that we can state we are "doing important dog business" to decline any requests for tasks when pup is sprawled on you.

This cheered me up no end.. just got home after visiting my very poorly Dad.. 5hr journey.. My puppy missed me...but woke up just as I took the photo

Im also trapped but love it. She jumps on as soon as I sit down and gets very grumpy if I move!
