What human food does your dog eat?

Looking to mix up my fussy dog's diet a bit but want to make sure we're not giving him anything we shouldn't. He eats kibble, wet food, chicken a lot of the time. We also give him (occasionally):

Scrambled egg
Plain pancakes
Banana
Carrot
Sardines

What else can we give him of our food for a bit of variety?

Cucumber is a big favourite here too.

Our Newf will eat almost anything, except peppers (or capsicum, as they're called in this house) and green beans. I have the best video of her being vanquished by a green bean.

She also won't eat her food unless there is a human component added - often this just requires a stir with the serving spoon once we've finished using it at dinner time.

Be careful with fatty food like cheese and any spaniel or spaniel.mix. Prone to pancreatitis and fatty lumps.

cata09x · 27/11/2022 16:47

Frozen mackerels! They absolutely love them.

VeganFromSveden · 27/11/2022 16:59

Baked beans
watermelon
whole large carrot
pizza crust
jacket potato
peanut butter on a lickmat
licking an almost empty yogurt pot
a whole crisp bag with a few crumbs at the bottom to Struggle for
any cooked veg apart from onion and celery
there’s deffo more, but my brains gone blank!

Maxifly · 27/11/2022 17:06

My fussy greyhound goes mad, hyperventilating when I make her a daily peanut butter on wholemeal bread sandwich. Otherwise its mostly chicken, kibble, weetabix, some veg and an occasional tin of oily fish.

CourtneeLuv · 27/11/2022 17:20

Porridge
Veg
Meat
Eggs
Dried sunfish as treats

tiger2691 · 27/11/2022 18:12

Cheese
Rice - usually brown basmati
Vegetables - peas, carrots, cabbage, broccoli

Used to have a cocker that loved frozen peas, went bonkers for peas straight out of their pods.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 27/11/2022 18:14

My dogs eat everything, given half a chance.

Dog food, human food, cat food, fat balls.

FerryYaBerryLa · 27/11/2022 18:16

Cucumber
apple
yoghurt
banana

ThePoshUns · 27/11/2022 18:23

My border terrier loves a Sunday roast and spaghetti bolognaise.
Also likes cheese.

GuyFawkesDay · 27/11/2022 18:28

Yes to bottom of yoghurt pot and spaghetti Bolognese too but he's banned from the spaghetti.

Loves a bit of peanut butter too, but not much.

Pizza crust and toast crusts he adores but can't have it, poor lad!

marmaladepop · 27/11/2022 18:59

Newfie-raw broccoli absolute favourite and only thing she's ever stolen from the kitchen bench 😆

ilovepixie · 27/11/2022 19:00

Mine loves prawn crackers, Spam and corned beef!

mac1974 · 27/11/2022 19:27

Roast dinner
Macaroni cheese
Crisps

PuddyR79 · 27/11/2022 19:29

Mine will eat anything you give her, she loves all fruit and veg, eggs, pasta etc. She's only a dinky toy breed but thinks she's a Labrador!

ThePoshUns · 27/11/2022 19:37

Oh and fish pie she just finishing that off

IvysMum12 · 27/11/2022 20:31

It's quicker to say what our Goldie doesn't have:
Onions, chocolate, dried fruit.

plinkplinkfizzer · 27/11/2022 20:33

Whatever is in the bin .😀

WormEater · 27/11/2022 21:46

Dd1 - traditional dustbin breed - eats whatever she can get, including spicy curry!
Dd2 - not a dustbin - who knows, everyday is different. What she ate yesterday she might not eat today. Everything offered is sniffed carefully incase we are trying to poison her.

daffodilandtulip · 27/11/2022 23:20

Anything. Actually prefers leftovers to actual dog food.

She goes wild as soon as I take the toastie maker out of the cupboard, as she knows she gets the crusts.
