What dogs live in your street?

In the thread about "dogs you never see anymore" it seems that dog ownership might be partly regional with some MNers saying that they haven't seen one in years and others replying that they have 3 living nearby.

So I'll start with:

1 Westie
1 Yorkshire Terrier
1 Cockerpoo
2 Newfoundland's and
1 Chinese Crested.

What dogs live near to you?

The Glen of Imaal is mine. He's very chilled and tolerant, but not very playful, he'll play tug of war but won't fetch a ball. He has a slight tendency to want to be in charge, he tells me when it's dinner time for instance and he gets upset if we are out for a walk with a few family members and one of them goes too far ahead or behind.

When I was a child we had a golden retriever and he wanted to make us happy, he tried his hardest to understand what we wanted and to give it to us. My Glen loves us and tries to stay as close to us as possible but doesn't think it's his job to make us happy because it's our job to make him happy, he will cooperate if he feels like it though, especially if there's food.

He's a dwarf breed, so his body is small labrador sized but his legs are tiny and his head is huge. When he's standing the top of his head comes to about my knee. This means he's hard to pick up, because he's 19kg but very low to the ground. He also can't really jump much so has to be lifted into his crate in the boot of the car.

A lovely rescue mongrel. Possibly lab x fox terrier.

In one house a chihuahua and a Boston Terrier one of which barks all the time.

Two small white things. Also very barky.

Another small white thing.

An Old English Sheepdog.

A Springer Spaniel who lounges on the window sill.

A yellow Lab puppy.

A young retriever.

Thanks @BlackAmericanoNoSugar I have wolfhounds and they always look like mini Wolfies but I have only ever met one. They intrigue me. That face though. ♥️

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 22/08/2021 23:10

They do look very similar Wolfiefan, I've seen a photo of them side by side and it's a remarkable resemblance which is mostly to do with hair I think. The wheaten Glens don't look as much like wolfhounds as the blue-brindle ones do.

mynameisbrian · 22/08/2021 23:13

2 wire haired fox terriers

1 Airedale

tabulahrasa · 23/08/2021 00:25

I don’t have a street....

I’ve got a god knows what, next door has pointers and then there’s Newfoundlands - and then there’s fields, lol

There’s 2 other houses I can see, but I don’t think they have dogs, one has horses, if that counts?

I meet someone with a Weimaraner often so I assume he lives nearby and there’s cocker spaniels up about a mile away at the end of the road.

Jaxxypantsmummy17 · 23/08/2021 02:07

We are a dog mad street Smile

We have…

1 x Yorkshire terrier
1 x bichon frise
1 x sausage dog
1 x greyhound
1 x black lab
4 x pocket bullies
3 x shitzu
2 x English bulldogs

& quite a lot of super cute mongrels.
