What dogs live in your street?

DominicRaabsTravelAgent · 22/08/2021 18:39

In the thread about "dogs you never see anymore" it seems that dog ownership might be partly regional with some MNers saying that they haven't seen one in years and others replying that they have 3 living nearby.

So I'll start with:

1 Westie
1 Yorkshire Terrier
1 Cockerpoo
2 Newfoundland's and
1 Chinese Crested.

What dogs live near to you?

Oh and 2 black labs! Forgot those pair

LadyCatStark · 22/08/2021 19:38

Nearly everyone on my street has a dog but the one that I can think of are:
1 black lab (ours)
2 labradoodles (next door)
1 cockerpoo (other next door)
2 smallish dogs whose breed I can’t remember but one is a brand new puppy.
A very yappy chihuahua and a chow chow.
3 absolutely enormous things that are more like miniature horses that drag their owners along.
A pug, dachshund and some sort of small bull dog.
2 American bulldogs who look terrifying but are actually very sweet.
A German shepherd who also looks terrifying but trots along next to its owner without needing a lead.
A dog that I’ve never seen but barks at our pup when we walk past.
One of the children on our street says they have 2 dogs but I’ve never seen them Confused.

DominicRaabsTravelAgent · 22/08/2021 19:42

An absolutely dangerous and vile Labrador cross

If that's awful percheron. There was a very nasty dog in my DSis street for years and used to regularly escape. My DSis had to make her garden super secure so that the bloody thing didn't get in.

icedcoffees · 22/08/2021 19:49

Not sure about exact umbers, but we have:

A yappy/aggressive Jack Russell next door.
A foxhound.
A Bernese Mountain Dog.
Staffies.
Greyhounds
Lurchers
Whippets
A black labrador
A very nervous collie
Several beagles (including mine)
A shih-tzu
A dachshund
A couple of very yappy chihuahaus who never seem to go anywhere.
A German Shepherd.
3 Flatcoat Retrievers.

We're rural so most of the town owns dogs, lol.

In the surrounding streets we have pomeranians, Basset Hounds, Frenchies, westies, a cairn terrier and lots of labs, border collies, cocker and springer spaniels.

Jacopo · 22/08/2021 19:59

A quite well behaved spaniel.
In a different house, a vile Jack Russell that barks all the time and is never taken for walks, just allowed into the garden to shit. And bark.

Hekatestorch · 22/08/2021 20:11

Not sure about my street but out and about locally, that we see regularly.

6 spaniels (5 cockers one springer)
1 Tibetan terrier
1 frenchie
3 staffys
1 rottweiler
2 pugs
2 standard poodles (own by the local dog groomer)
1 chihuahua

There's no poodle crosses that we see, except ours. Which I find funny as I said I would never have one, but fostered one for a rescue, I Foster for and couldnt part with her so adopted her. Our best guess is that she is a cavapoo. I also have 2 cockers one working, one show.

Jeezo, maybe we have the same neighbour! JRT next door barks constantly. Is aggressive as well. Can't stand it every time I see it. The family have never socialised it at all.
