Can anyone recommend a durable plush type toy?

DDog loves her soft suck toy but it’s now a carcass with half the stuffing missing. Looking on Amazon lots of reviews of durable ones are saying they aren’t actually that durable after all.

Any recommendations?

@AnnPerkins

Am I being too careful? When our poodle has chewed through a toy we've always taken it off him, because he's actually eating the fibres. I've spent a fortune on so-called tough toys and given up buying them now.

I would love him to have something to chew on at the moment because we're trying to keep him calm while he's recovering from neutering surgery and he's bored out of his mind, bless him.

If actually eating the stuffing rather than just pulling it out, it's not ideal

You could try a stuffing free dog toy such as amzn.to/2QK0bnH

There's also plenty of toys like a Classic Kong that don't have any fibres at all

We go for stuffing less dog toys. He has a fox a bit like this which has lasted ages.
He has really enjoyed the Aldi caterpillar toy as he can unstuff the caterpillars again and again, I thought he might break it easily but it has lasted since November.

Mine have quite a few of the toys like the fox that kennythekangaroo linked to, we call them their roadkill toys and they have lasted quite a long time.

The only ones my dog really likes and that have lasted longest are Animal Instincts Forest Friends, which I've bought online - I think I've seen them on Ebay too. My dog has had 2 squirrels for 1 year and 2 years - both squeaks now broken and one has been disembowelled and sewn up again. At Christmas I gave her a stoat in the same range and she has not managed to damage it at all - the squeak is working so well that the parrot has learned to imitate it to wind up the dog. My dog is a staffie so she is quite tough on her toys. and though she can damage these eventually, they have lasted longer than any others I've tried and she LURVES them dearly.

i've just counted up all the Fluff and Tuff toys the dogs now own, and it's a ridiculous NINE. Blush They're easily the most durable toys we've ever had, although our terrier manages to desqueak them eventually. The main difference (IMHO) is that they're constructed in such a way that if a leg or an ear gets chewed off, the rest of the stuffing seems to stay in place, allowing for an emergency trip to the toy-spital for bad surgery. And they go through the wash pretty well.

The Pets at Home 'Ruff and Tuff' or whatever they're called, though... One minute. ONE MINUTE was all it took for total destruction. It's rare to see a terrier look pleased and disgusted at the same time, but there you go.
