Bella is not allowed upstairs and never ever offers to go upstairs or follow me upstairs. I believed that she never went upstairs until last week when on the school run ds sent me this photo. Not only is she upstairs, she is actually on my bed! I suspect that she's probably up there each day until she hears the car pull up and then runs downstairs to be where she should be before I come in. Of course I have now scuppered that by making sure the bedroom doors are closed before I leave.

When we first got our previous dog, DH had this strange idea that we shouldn't let him on the furniture (he could sit on our laps when we were there). We never saw the dog on the suite, but the feather-filled back cushion of the chair by the window started to get a large depression in it.
Obviously DH realised the error of his ways and recanted his heretical views. Grin

Well, at least she is lying on top of the bed. My dog is often to be found snuggled under my duvet with his head on the pillow. He will open one eye if I come into the room and then go back to sleep.

Naughty but cute!

When I was young we had a DDog who was absolutely not allowed upstairs.

She knew it was really my DM that wouldn't allow it, so came anyway in the middle of the night into my and my DB's rooms, where she may not have been discouraged ;). My dad said she once poked her nose around their bedroom door, saw my mum, and backed away quietly before she was seen. He nearly died laughing.

When we feed our labrador he doesn't touch it until told. I can put his dinner out, go into the kitchen and top up his water and he'll still not touch it.

Once when in a hurry I fed him and got distracted before popping out to local Tesco. Came back 20 mins later and the poor boy was still sitting by his bowl, floor soaked with drool, waiting to be told he could eat his dinner.

My dog doesn't even obey the rules when I AM home.

Dogs are sneaky. My dog refused to walk for a few days, she wanted me to carry her upstairs and bring her food to her bed, I thought her back legs had gone. So I booked a vet appointment to probably have her put to sleep and took DC to grandma’s out of the way. When I came back to pick her up she had climbed two flights of stairs, jumped on the sofa and was peering out of the window looking for me.

What a very uncharacteristic labrador.

My Lab will wait but if you're longer than 30 seconds then that's time up in his eyes Smile. He will do the wiggle first though. It's the 'I am absolutely starving and can't wait a second longer' wiggle

Definitely not, my two aren't allowed in the living room unless we are in it and def not on sofas, occasionally I come home to find them both wagging tails like crazy at the living room door as DP has left it open, then spot the hairy areas on the sofa Grin cheeky brats.

We had an old dog who I was sure didn't go upstairs, until one day I went out then quickly back as I forgot something, I could hear her racing down the stairs as I put the key in the door Grin

My dog is sneaky, if he hears me coming I can hear him running down the stairs (not allowed upstairs), he used to have a habit of jumping on the garden table. I have caught him on there when he thought i was out
