Only started today and I have a vet appt this afternoon.

Google search is scary and I’ve also got the added worry that his is a recent rescue with no insurance yet.

He is approx 10, is there any easy fix and what can it be?

Our big boy is called Bruce and his 9 week old brothers are Rudi and Reggie - I didn’t mention the pups up thread, it wasn’t about them but, yes I have been dealing with all this whilst house training these two as well!!

I would hide in a dark room but I’ve got Wee to wipe up and a floor to mop and wine in the fridge!

Oh yes, a nice full glass in the sun whilst our boys slept in the shade.

Bruce is so much better, very small but frequent wee’s- thankful for such nice weather.

I’m off to join the puppy survival thread now my boys is recovering, at least I don’t need to keep lifting and laying the big boy down.

I can’t thank you all enough, I’m sure I’ll pop up again on the board very soon again

Just to note, big boy started his symptoms before the little ones arrived so it wasn’t stress or anything like that.

The bladder stones take a good while to develop and he was in a flat with his deceased owner so know idea of history.

How is he doing now @GazingAndGrazing?

He was doing ok but has taken a few steps backwards and is just peeing everywhere including lying down.

We are back to take his stitches out on Wednesday

I feel the need to update as you have all been here from the start.

We made the difficult decision this evening to let Bruce rest in peace. He spent the last 2 days soaked in his own urine, unable to pee unless moving so much so we had to confine the poor lad in one room or outside when not raining.

He didn’t understand and spent all day today yelping and licking, he was due for his staples out on Wednesday, it felt too cruel to string it out.

We are all devastated, I’m exhausted from crying and every time I look and he isn’t here it starts again.

I know it will get easier, it always does but never gets easier.

I love you Bruce 💕

I am so so very very sorry. But you have given him the last and maybe the very greatest gift of love any human can give to an animal. You are suffering. And I feel so sorry for you. But he isn’t. You gave him peace and dignity not pain and confusion.
I’m so very sorry for your loss though.
RIP Bruce. Flowers

I'm so sorry, you did so well for him and you were so strong, he will have been so grateful for your incredible love and care. At least now he's out of pain and can reunite with his previous owner, who I'm sure would be so thankful for all you did too. I hope you're doing ok yourself OP

I'm so sorry. I was rooting for you all and understand your pain. I'd commented earlier in your post re our lovely cat who'd been unwell. He made a recovery that was short lived and we too found ourselves at the vet on Monday doing the last living thing we ever do for our pets. It's very difficult, we are missing him, the dogs are missing him and the house is missing his presence. It gets easier as I'm sure you know. Stay strong and take pride in all you did for him 💙
