Only started today and I have a vet appt this afternoon.

Google search is scary and I’ve also got the added worry that his is a recent rescue with no insurance yet.

He is approx 10, is there any easy fix and what can it be?

Really hoping for a good outcome. We've two old girls and I worry about them when something's not right. We've also got a poorly cat just now and have been back and forth to vet. Thinking of you x

Sending positive thoughts. You are doing absolutely everything you can for him and no one can do more than that.

Morning, we picked him up 11ish last night straight after his op because he wasn’t coping well without us, very disorientated and keeps trying to wee but the vet removed 7 bladder stones and a full bladder of urine so I suppose it’s a waiting game now.

We are taking him back at 9am for after Care so fingers crossed again.

7 bladder stones - no wonder he struggled to wee Sad. Hoping so much that now they're out he will recover quickly!

He looks lovely , will he need a special diet to stop the stones reoccurring? He is very lucky to have found you when you consider how many older staffies are in rescue .

Thank you, we are lucky to have crossed paths he is an absolute gem. Not spoken about diet just yet and he is still at the vets! I’m having to sit on my hands to stop calling them.

We are home. Its not the normal process for our boy.
Normally when they catheterise a dog they keep them in for a few days to recover but he is old and was very stressed so much so they worried about the pressure on his heart (he ruptured his stitches so they had to re do them and staple) so I’m going do do the vet nurse bit at home for the next 3 days.

And then take him back to remove the catheter.

We will keep our fingers and paws crossed for a non eventful few days for you both . He looks very settled in that picture .

If he's happier at home there's no doubt that's the best place for him to recover. The poor lamb looks very calm and resigned in his basket - 'Yes, I'm sure there's a perfectly good reason for all these bits and pieces and I'll just wait here patiently until someone takes them off.'

Ha ha he is just looking at me “ffs what is this all about mum”

He has drank some water which is good and I’ve managed to empty the catheter tube twice without covering us both in wee so that’s a bonus and possibly a new career path Grin

He is certainly much more settled at home with us. We have drained him 3 times and I’m trying to stay awake to do a midnight one.

We have decided to stick with his normal routine, go to bed, take his bed up with us (DH will carry him ouf!) and I believe he will sleep soundly all night, happy and content and then we will start it all again at 6am.

He doesn’t appear to be in pain and hasn’t fussed about the bandages and me messing about “down there” such a good boy.
