Dh and I overslept this morning and left Monty in the care of the dds

I came down to wee on the carpet, in his crate, on the sofa Hmm and a poo on the bed in his crate.

Dd1 did tell me not to worry about his breakfast though as she'd fed him. She put it in his bowl so it covered the bottom, boiled the kettle, let it cool for a few minutes and given it to him. She was very pleased with herself so I told her well done. Then I worked out that he'd had twice as much as he should have done. No wonder he went out and did a massive poo on the garden.

Apparently he likes jumping off their laps from the sofa to the floor. Was doing this this morning. Bit worried now. He's a lab and he shouldn't be putting any kind of pressure on his joints at this age. Have explained this to them, as much as an eight year old and six year old can understand.

Must not oversleep in future. Ever.

Oh and I voted Tory actually. I'm a huntin', shootin', fishin' blue blooded lab owner. Your point?

timelord you're being as over dramatic as whathaveilost.... The OP has (hopefully) not had the puppy more than two weeks. If you say you managed to toilet train your lab in two weeks, you're either bullshitting or a genius dog whisperer. Either way your talents are wasted on MN.

'Why have kids if you're not going to look after them?' So you can get a dog and they look after each other. Haven't you seen Peter Pan?!!!

OP your pup is gorgeous. I am so so so so jealous.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 10/05/2015 17:31

Oh sorry stinker, I thought that was a low dig.

Of course an 8 year old is capable of using a kettle Blush at that age I could make a basic meal.

abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz1234 · 10/05/2015 17:33

What a cute puppy. Smile

How sweet of your girls to think to feed him. I'm sure they would have woken you had there been a problem.

I have a rule in my house that which ever child has last made me a cup of tea is officially my favourite child. It takes the guesswork out of the external 'who's the favourite child' question and means I get lots of cups of tea. Mine all used kettles by 8.

Lweji · 10/05/2015 17:34

Hand the kids to SS. Now.

Or carry on as usual.

Whatever you prefer.

don't you set an alarm on the evening before bed OP i thought all parents did.

Or not. DS used to be my alarm clock.

Irelephant · 10/05/2015 17:36

The only reason I'm happy too leave my 9 year old unsupervised for short periods is because I put the dog on guard duty.

Lovely pup op.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 10/05/2015 17:43

I don't set an alarm on a Sunday, no. Must have just been very tired. Dh and I were digging up an old hedge yesterday and it was back breaking work. Pup was out with us on his long line tied to a tree. He had a great time playing in the garden. Grin

I read your first part of the post OP & this is what I thought- you dirty girl Adorabelle Grin I came down to wee on the carpet, in his crate, on the sofa

Greenkit · 10/05/2015 17:48

I am PMSL @ some of your responses.

My kids could also make tea and use a toaster at 8 and my lad made a cake (from his own recipe I might add) which involved the fridge, and a cooker at 8.

Sundays are for lie ins anyway, although I do tend to let the dogs out and they we all go back to bed

Set alarm bells for when they get out of bed in the night too.

Whathaveilost · 10/05/2015 18:27

Flippin heck Slacker pick me up on a typo!
The OP over slept by accident and you ant the other silly cow make out as if she is the neglect mother of the year.
Over dramatic? *can't believe you let an eight year old use the kettle unsupervised? Lets get the cotton wool out shall we?

The OP isn't exactly laughing or proud of what happened and you and what ever her name is come in with your cat's bum face all sanctimonious.
What's my problem? People quick to judge and be smug about someone misfortune.
Labour voter? What on earth are you on about?
Fuck your flowers , patronising.........whatever!

Stinkersmum · 10/05/2015 18:30

whathaveilost calm down poppet. Have a Biscuit

Stinkersmum · 10/05/2015 18:33

No Dramaandmoredrama - just trying to work out why whathaveilost is in such a bad mood. The only reason I could think of was still bitter about the Tories getting in.

Whathaveilost · 10/05/2015 18:51

I'm not in a bad mood.
I just get fed up of smug fuckers on MN who think they are clever for picking some one up on a typo, being suprised that some lets an 8 year old use a kettle and presuming what why I vote and using that as an insult. Also being patronising.
Stinker you clearly aren't as clever as you think you are.

Stinkersmum · 10/05/2015 19:18

I'm happy with how clever I am. As I couldn't give a flying monkey's bottom what some batshit crazy stranger in MN thinks of me. Try it sometime. It'll do you and your blood pressure the world of good.

Whathaveilost · 10/05/2015 19:31

There you go again making assumptions! Why do you think you know about my politics and health. So wide of the mark.

Nowt wrong with my blood pressure. Me and DH are sat here laughing at what the next insult is going to be now 'I bet you're a labour voter' has been used!

Stinkersmum · 10/05/2015 19:33

Are you just mardy by nature then?

Whathaveilost · 10/05/2015 19:37

What are you talking about now?

Bluetrews25 · 10/05/2015 19:38

He is adorable.
I hope he brings you all much joy for many years.
