Cancelled insurance to swap it to another at the end of the month. Cheaper cover and better to come out just after payday.

5 years with not a single days illness. Not one vet visit.

Today he's only bloody ill.

Tummy all swollen and tender. 1 puke and 1 sloppy poo. Managed to eat his supper though.

Bloody git.

Sad

I cried when monster puppy went for his elbow surgery, lots, lol.

moosemama · 29/05/2013 10:28

Thinking of you and your boy today AYC.

AtYourCervix · 29/05/2013 10:30

Thanks. Waiting for results of scan before deciding whst to do next. Feel sick.

Also got to go and be jabbed this afternoon (vaccinations). Feel sick about that too.

ExcuseTypos · 29/05/2013 10:55

Sad. I hope your dog is going to be fine. And good luck for our own jabs.

When you know the problem, I would definitely tell the vet what has happened regarding insurance, and ask if he has any advice. He might know a way around it.

If you have no joy with him, then phone the insurance people you cancelled and ask them if it is possible to reinstate it. You never know, there might be a cooling of period for cancellations.

Fairydogmother · 29/05/2013 10:57

Hope everything goes ok today x

AtYourCervix · 29/05/2013 11:05

No surgery for now. Wait and see for a few days.

Massive PHEW (for now) and just got to hope he improves without.

Smile good luck little cervix dog...which btw sounds really wrong, rofl.

moosemama · 29/05/2013 12:52

That sounds positive AYC. Definitely good news if the scans/xrays haven't shown up anything scary.

Do they still think it's his back? Just rest and anti-inflammatories?

Sending loads of positive vibes for him to get better without anymore intervention.

AtYourCervix · 29/05/2013 12:58

Yes. Prolapsed disk. Needs to stay at the vet for a while to see how he does. If he gets worse then maybe surgery.
Vet was positive as he still has feeling in his pads, can wag his tail and still control of his bladder (as much as he ever had anyway).
We're missing him.

OP posts:
ExcuseTypos · 29/05/2013 13:24

Pleased he is tail waggingSmile.

Fairydogmother · 29/05/2013 17:45

Those are excellent signs - I hope very thing goes well. The dog I knew had no feeling from halfway along his back so a very different situation.

moosemama · 29/05/2013 17:51

Aw, poor little thing. All sounding positive though, especially the tail wagging.

Will be keeping everything crossed for him.

AtYourCervix · 30/05/2013 11:45

Todays update.

He's being incontinent (more than usual) Sad but they're happy to wait and review tomorrow. Tail still waggy. We can visit him later but if he gets stressed by it then he might be better just left Sad Sad.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 30/05/2013 11:57

Aw, poor little woof :(

Fairydogmother · 30/05/2013 12:13

Bless him poor boy

If he likes chew toys or bones etc that would be nice for him to lie and play with plus keep him in one place without getting too excited

AtYourCervix · 30/05/2013 12:15

I'll take him his blanky and teddy later. Forgot them yesterday i was in such a tizz.

OP posts:
CajaDeLaMemoria · 30/05/2013 12:25

If you have something that smells of you...a jumper or something, he might find that really comforting. It sounds crazy, but it makes the world of difference.

Or you could put his blanky down your top for a while?

It really calms dogs (and cats!), and he might settle easier then.

I hope his incontinence improves, and he avoids surgery. Bless him.

AtYourCervix · 30/05/2013 12:29

Thanks. I miss not having him on my lap.
