What are we all doing with our dogs on this fine (ha!) morning?

I have two sighthounds and a balding terrier. Wind we deal with wind with coats if necessary. Rain - ditto. Gale forces winds and severe rain, um, no we stay indoors.

Poor puppy locked himself in the yard in the wee hours - que frantic howling and scrabling at the door until someone woke up to rescue him. He thinks he's had enough excitement for one day and is laying quietly in bed for the first time ever in his life Shock

I think I am going to stick to indoor training for today to keep them quiet. Maybe a short walk later of the wind or rain or both die down. Anyone else house bound today?

Got wellied up and went out anyway, love talking my dogs out in bad weather as it feels like just me and my dogs out there.

SpicyPear · 25/09/2012 10:33

See hoodoo I would like that but she's not having any of it. We managed an hour this morning before the rain. I knew it was about to chuck it down when she stopped and refused to walk any direction except back towards home.

See, I have wellies and waterproofs. It's not me who won't go out. It's them Shock

The way the little hound howls when I make her go out in horrendous weather would have someone reporting me to the RSPCA. You would think I was physically beating her Hmm and then puppy joins in with the howling.

She has a lufferly coat. It's a wee bit small, though. Her new one is arriving soon.

Little hound is going out tonight, with my dad's dogs. She might deign to leave the car if she has her little lurcher friend to play with. The terrier is coming to PAH with me later on.

Gorgeous morning here in North London, so a lovely long walk around Ally Pally and Highgate Wood. Unfortunately, "Bog Dog" ended up chin deep in a putrid pool of liquid sludge which he thought was GREAT!!! Hmm Now feeling very sorry for himself after his hose down. Lots of kite flying today, so Essex girl was very busy rounding up all the strange beasties in the sky. Grin

well we did manage to get out this morning, went to walk from DDs school back home (its 6 miles so I have to drive there shes only 5 and complains if I make her walk to school, is ok walking home) got about 1 1/2 miles in and the only way onto the cycle track we walk down was under 2 feet of water Shock So Pimmsdog had a good swim around in it and then we walked back to the car admitting defeat. He is now curled up on a duvet on the sofa and I am drinking lempsip as I have caught my friends cold Sad

He got more of a walk than yesterday but at 9pm last night he was going mental over his kong throwing it all around the house and waking up DD. I think the need for around around was greater than the need to stay out of the rain this morning, although he did jump back in the car quickly.

Guess we will be doing more training and tail chasing (that is good at tiring him out) today although I am feeling rough and don't want to go out I wont be going to sleep on the sofa no not me Grin

Still raining here and lab still curled up and snoozing. He hates rain but loves a swim. The paws go in at the door lip and nothing is making him cross that threshold in a downpour, coat or no.

We met up with the pack this morning as it was dry. She got play whizzys and bitey face with a fellow Lab pup.

And she discovered she can swim today Grin she ran out of floor and realised she could keep going - her face was a picture, it was like she discover she had superpowers Smile

She is still sleeping it off in the conservatory Blush
