We have a cavalier crossed with a bichon frise. She is 19 mths and has been a perfect dog. She loves her toy rabbit and will go and find it if asked. DH adores her but wouldn't admit it. She is very laid back and loves to curl up on DS's bed if given the chance. She adores my DD and if DD is upset she never leaves her side. She particularly loves to lick any bare skin she can find in the mornings when she is allowed upstairs to see us all (after spending night in her crate downstairs) and has a fetish for licking toes. She loves all humans especially children and loves playing with dogs her own size. She adores the kids 'super soakers' and gets so excited when they get them out - she has trained them to squirt the water for her to chase and drink! She does still chew (when does this stop? ?!) and recently found my DS's xbox controller and chewed the knobs, and a pencil of DD's that she chewed to pieces. I find it so hard to tell her off though! She was easy to train and her party trick is 'drying her face on a towel' when asked!
We love her to bits!

  1. Pepper - Overconfident, over excitable, somewhat manic but very sweet natured Mini Schnauzer.
  1. Gozo - Lazy, not very bright but very easy going, easy to love Affenpinscher.
  1. Enzo - Lippy at other dogs, bit of a wuss but adores his Mummy, cuddle monster Affenpinscher.

I love reading these!

I have a 9 year old sheltie, Budgen (not my fault, DD1 named him when she was 6 Blush ). He's as loyal as you can imagine, follows me everywhere, insists all the family stay together and rounds us up if not. Would defend me to the death. Walks have always been a chore to be endured - we've never had to train heelwork as he spends the whole walk with his nose to my ankle, trudging along. He's one for a quiet life, except when there's something to bark about when he rather likes the sound of his own voice!

2nd dog, Poppy (I got in there with the naming this time!) is a 1 year old Jack Daniels Grin. She's clever and feisty and Trouble. I love her to bits but she's hard, hard work. She's done endless dog classes, at which she puts on her best model dog act and excels - so much that the trainer uses her as the demo dog. Then she returns home and steals the cat's food off the kitchen sides, jumps the garden fence, goes on a "steal and destroy" mission with DD2's toys, demands constant attention.... It's like having a toddler - but worse. I love her to bits, though. She came into my life at a very difficult time and has literally been my lifesaver. :)

Mamaz0n · 22/06/2011 20:41

Albert. He's a 3 year old Blue roan Cocker Spaniel.

Mad as a box of frogs. Totally bonkers. We can go for a walk and yet he still comes home and charges around like he's wired to the mains.
Greedy like you wouldn't believe, he eats everything and anything.

he is also the funniest animal in the world ever. He jumps on the trampoline even when the DC aren't here.

If they leave a toy on the floor he picks it up and takes it to his bed. he doesn't eat or chew it, he just sort of looks after it. Grin

I have a 6 month great dane blue and white harlequin called Luna :) She is adorable and now that she is getting a bit bigger is developing the floppy dane jowels that I love so much. She's a big, cuddly, lollopy puppy who needs to grow into her feet!

Pics on profile :D

kitsmummy · 23/06/2011 10:52

boohoohoo, yes they do look very alike! Betty has a curl in her tail, but not the full pug curl. I love pugs and just like you I'm always getting stopped in the street by people asking about her. Weirdly, she seems to be a particular hit with big, butch looking men!

pramsgalore4 · 23/06/2011 20:22

i have a king charles and hes lovely, he washing our cat and loves cuddles :) but at the moment he has a little problem Blush he keeps farting and he stinks so hes not very sweet at the moment :o

NoCarbsBeforeMarbs · 23/06/2011 20:34

This is a lovely thread!

I don't have a dog at the moment, broody for one but not quite ready, so I've really enjoyed reading about everyone elses' dogs Smile

misdee · 23/06/2011 20:45

i have a labradoodle called ralph. he is the fluffiest dog i know wehn his coat is full. he is gentle and has the soppiest puppydog eyes.

he cant jump, he tries but often just looks confused.

however he can walk a few steps on his hind legs.

he think he is a cat, he purrs when you scratch his eyes, he paws things like a cat does, and he loves fish.

ellangirl · 23/06/2011 21:34

Love reading about everyone's dogs! I have 5 ish year old collie (with a bit of lurcher possibly) who is crap with other dogs, but at the same time obsessed with them. She is the best dog around the house, but drives me mad on walks by disgracing herself regularly with her behaviour towards others. Think she gets quite stressed and wish she could be happier. She is however wonderful with my 16 week old springer cross girl, and they play so well together. Puppy is totally gorgeous but with a seriously shrill bark! Love watching her with my toddler DS- 2 babies together! She is currently doing high speed circuits of the living room like a thing possessed...

shivster1980 · 25/06/2011 14:10

Love reading about the dogs and nosing at all the gorgeous pictures.

I have a 2 yr old Doodle called Monty who is soft, fluffy, and welded to us at all times. He rarely barks, is very patient with 5 yr old DS and loves chasing his ball in the park.

He sleeps on his mat in our bedroom, and then about 6am gets on the bed for a snuggle.

My Mum, and In-laws are always threatening to take him home.

As of this coming Monday I will also have Bobby, an accidentally bred Labrador Daschund cross puppy. Bizarrely I had one as a child who is now 15 yrs old, and I saw these and couldn't resist. The story is on my blog if you are interested

here Grin

mumatron · 25/06/2011 14:45

love reading about dogs. if I had a big enough house i would have loads of them.

For now we just have shyla (was shilo but next door had a milo and it got ver confusing) a 3 year old american bull. we took her in when she was about 7 weeks and her mum died :(

I don't think we could have found a better dog for us if we had tried. She is convinced she is one of the kids and follows dd1 around like her shadow. She is thick as two short planks and clumsy as anything.

pics on profile of her fav sitting position.

BabyDubsEverywhere · 25/06/2011 18:18

I have got an 9 month old staff called Reggie. I love him sooo much. But he is a pain in the arse. He tries to kill me daily. He is always under my foot before i put it down. Hes great in the house with me DH and the hobbits, he is mostly calm and almost sedate! He never snaps or bark...nothing. However, if someone walks through the door all his training is forgotten and he is wild with jumping and licking and trying to say hello. HE is also strong as an ox and difficult to control in such situations and as everyone who visits me has a low tollerance to dogs in general i end up putting him out all the time and hate it :( Im sure he will get better eventually.....(hopefull emoticon?!?)

Even with this pain in the ass dog who chews everything he can get to steals food and eats the cat poo (bleugh!) I really want another dog. I feel Reg would be happier with a friend....and i would like something fluffy Blush

DooinMeCleanin · 25/06/2011 18:21

BabyDubs is the Devil Dog (pic on profile) fluffy enough for you? Fluffy dogs are a pain in the arse to keep clean. Particularly white ones. Don't do it to yourself and your sofas Grin

BabyDubsEverywhere · 25/06/2011 19:24

Dooin he is perfect! just what I am after!

i have just poored through Many Tears again....i want about 25 of those at least...Dh will vito rescue though i know it. :(

DooinMeCleanin · 25/06/2011 19:27

No he has to be kept away from postmen, he tries to eat them Hmm

BabyDubsEverywhere · 25/06/2011 19:33

Haha...hmm better not then. Catapult it is Grin

KnickersOnOnesHead · 26/06/2011 00:01

I have 2 rescue Staffie Crosses.

Diesel (came with the name) is 20months old.

and

Becky, 13 months. Think she has part JRT too. She was the last dog at Springfield (lllooonnnngggg story) and couldn't leave her fate down to the staffie hating staff that 'worked' there.

VirgoGrr · 26/06/2011 00:13

Knickers, why are so many SBTs called Diesel? Lack of imagination on the part of former owners, clearly? Smile

We have a 3 yr old American Bulldog, who was given to us as a nightmare dog at 18 months. With a bit of patience and understanding of his teenage stage, he's now a lovely dog with a massive personality (and backside). Always such a long face though. Smile Photos available for anyone looking for a fright. Grin

He's got lovely manners and loves children. It's so nice to see him with my niece who has SN. He's very gentle and does exactly as she tells him.

Previously had a SBT, who had to be pts unexpectedly. I said we should wait a bit before considering another dog. Came home from work a week later and found this monster in the garden. DH knows that if he brings a dog home and gives me a sob story, it'll end up staying. The swine.

madhattershouse · 26/06/2011 00:22

Bloomin eck...had no idea the name Diesel was popular! My 14 week old Lhasa Apso/Bichon Frise cross came with that name and we kept it...he does have black slodges! Any one have any idea why a puppy would smell so much? He is pongy and he was bathed 2 weeks ago.

LadyGago · 27/06/2011 14:00

I have a 3 year old Ruby Cavalier KC called Willoughby (Will for short). He is very loving, loves jaffa cakes (but only proper jaffa cakes, not the supermarkets own brand - he will not be fooled!) He is a bit smelly, and his ear ends get a bit crispy from where he trails them in his dinner. My son is 11 and Will would follow him to the ends of the earth! Its a pleasure having Will as part of our family.

We have (from next Friday!) a collie x shepherd x everything else, 11m dog called Harley.

Providing he doesn't try to eat the cats and they don't try to kill him!

DaisyGoneCrazy · 27/06/2011 15:26

I Have A Very gorgeous yorkie-poo called daisy (hence my MN name) Grin
she's naughty as hell, and has an inbuilt chocolate radar.
Completely untrainable but she has us all wrapped around her paw. She is totally fearless and growls at anyone who dares to be on HER street but we wouldnt live without her Smile
