So sorry xx

It's the last kindness we can do for our beloved pets...but it doesn't maker it any easier or hurt any less when the time comes.

I'm so sorry. We put our dog down about a month ago, and it was one of the worst things I've ever had to do.

Quodlibet · 19/02/2011 00:56

So sorry. I had to make that call in November. I'm absolutely sure that your love for your dog meant that you did the right thing. Better a week too early than a day too late and all that.

mummygogo · 19/02/2011 07:55

our very dear silly old dog died 3 weeks ago and I was absolutely heartbroken. I totally get how you feel.

You see them more than most friends or family and they do leave a massive gap. I'm sure though all our silly old dogs are looking down and saying that they did have a wonderful life

TheMonster · 19/02/2011 11:31

Thanks everyone. Someone at work made me feel batter by asking me, that if we kept him alive, would it be for us or him. And it's snowing this morning. I think that it's my doggy making it snow because we loved walking in the snow.

As somebody who's beautiful bulldog died a month ago, I'm sorry.
I've put a memory box together for him with some of his things and I still say goodnight to him. His ashes are on my kitchen table, I don't know what to do with them.
Think of happy times together.
Thinking of you.

queenrollo · 19/02/2011 11:52

We had our 14 year old lab put to sleep in Nov so my heart really goes out to you Sad

StataLover · 19/02/2011 18:14

so sorry :( it's heartbreaking

JaxTellersOldLady · 19/02/2011 19:19

so sorry OP, such a sad thing to have to do.

I also have my old boys ashes, I kept them and we were going to scatter them in the sea next time we were at his fave place in Scotland, but have decided not to. I just want to keep him 'at home'

The sadness does get easier over time, silly cliche but it is true, although I wont forget my old boy and we have two new -hooligans-- young things to keep us busy.

big hug for you.

kid · 19/02/2011 23:11

It's so sad when our pets die, the only thing that can truly ease the pain is time.

Thinking of you eeyore x

CalamityKate · 20/02/2011 01:59

So sorry :( xxx

TheMonster · 20/02/2011 13:00

Thanks everyone. We chose not to have his ashes back but we've kept his harness. I miss him.
