MNHQ Please don't insult us.

MNHQ, many of us on here are interested and/or active in dog welfare and rescue, be that as rescuers, campaigners, vets or just well informed dog owners. To call this section "The Kennel Club", after an organisation which encourages the breeding of dogs for looks rather than health - indeed which encourages breeding at all when there are hundreds of dogs being killed in pounds each week purely for want of homes - is an insult.

I usually enjoy the wit of MN's topic names but this one was ill judged.

If we must have a seperate dog topic, albeit that it's not very helpful to those of us with various species, especially those who are able to advise and help with problems relating to more than one type of pet, may we please at least have a less offensive name for the topic.

Well, the poll I started over on Pets here is, at the moment, 100% in favour of going to back to the way we were.

Please, Justine, sweetie - please listen to us. See, us pet owners kind of liked things tha way they were.

But PortBlacksand, you don't tend to get any haters on dog topics in pets, they are all hanging around AIBU and News, waiting for the next big ruck thread.

I have been helping expat look for her lost cameleon for the last few days, and have seen first hand just how difficult pet ownership can be.

I agree a section is needed, and it can be hard to find the approriate name. How about The Zoo, The cookos Nest, Holding Pen, or simply "Barking Madness".

I'll have you know that my little Honey is the third most loved person in my life!
