Morning and welcome.

To anyone new this is the Happy Place Café, all food and drink served here is calorie free. Everyone is welcome.

There are some people who have been here for literally years and others are newer.

The staff are me, obviously, Florence a French pastry chef who is married to Fernando the cocktail waiter (no one knows where Fernando is from so we suspect the marriage was about visas).

In a previous incarnation one of the regulars was Tilly (RIP) who brought a sparkling light in to the café along with a lemur named Leo.

Leo runs a dog wash (Tilly had a golden retriever and her family agreed to the dog wash as a tribute) but as there are rarely and dogs around he will wash anything, his other interests are goats and eggs. He spends every morning cooking eggs.

Outside the café is seating and a water feature, the water feature becomes a swimming pool in summer and an ice rink in winter. There is also a petting zoo.

Other residents are the kittenbees who are kittens the size of a bee with wings, they are very gentle but like to nibble anything sweet. Please do not give them alcohol.

Outside is where their larger cousins the bumblecats live, they are about the size of a fist and a lot more feisty than the kittenbees.

There is normally a daily special for breakfast and sometimes there is a pack up / bait / packed lunch.

Now to breakfast.

I thought a little trip to Germany would fit this morning so Florence is making bread rolls, soft and crusty, Leo is baking / frying / boiling eggs and Fernando is serving Apfelkorn.

I put out a selection of cooked meats, cheeses, jam, nutella, marmalade and if you want that abomination that people wither love or hate, it is in a locked box in the garden, far from the café, that is where it is to be consumed.

Actually I watched a vid from 'Atomic Shrimp' the other day that featured the brown paste added to warm milk.

IRL Well my PC has decided it is having a slow day so lets make a simple breakfast, Indian style.

Florence is making puris and chapatis, Leo is making spicy scrambled eggs, I'll put out some fruit, melon, mango, guava and some chutneys and of course salted yoghurt.

I think another simple breakfast is in order, a breakfast based on bread and potatoes so Florence is making farls, potato cakes, soda bread and morning rolls.

Leo is boiling eggs so you can have slices of egg on your bread. I'll put out butter, jam, marmalade and Bovril.

Fernando is making cocktails with a potato based vodka.

@sashh your pc seem to be repeating itself has it been drinking Fernandos cocktails or has Leo been feeding it scrabbled eggs ?

Can I have a couple of morning rolls and soft boiled eggs and a black coffee please.
I may come back for soda bread and jam later.

@ScottBakula It has been glitchy the last couple of days, it was running as slow as a snail with a lead shell.

You could try bribery with a coffee and pastries or smack it on the nose with a rolled up news paper and clear all its cookies away 😄

I already cleared the cookies and ran a virus scan and nothing. For an hour then it started to work normally.

The newspaper reminds me of the golden retriever we had as kids. \My uncle kept saying that was how you trained the dog. One day he actually got the newspaper, rolled it up and hit her on the snout. She snatched the newspaper and took it to another human because she thought it was a new game.

Now breakfast.

I think bubble and squeak with a (made by Leo) fried egg on the side. Florence is making croissants for a sweet alternative and Fernando is serving hot chocolate with a dram of whisky.

And the PC glitches are back, I tried to post this 3 hours ago!

Florence is making Bao with a salty filling and deep fried dough sticks. Try the sticks dipped in soy milk.

There is congee, wantons, rice noodles steamed rice. Leo is making a type of pancake rolled around spicy vegetables.

Fernando is serving Baijiu, be careful it is strong.

Im currently between the Xmas bargain Threads on here, Asda George and Amazon searching for gifts.
As i refuse to go into the actual shops.

December is normally my month, its My Birthday and i love Christmas, but its a shitty time at the moment and not feeling christmassy at all this year, so wont be putting any decorations or tree up this year.

What is everyone else up to who is up right now?

Christmas was always a very busy time of the year when I was younger as we had 4 close members of family with birthdays within the same week.
But now it's much quieter .

Morning, I've just come across your cafe after taking my elderly dog out for a night time wee.

I know it's still early but I can't get back to sleep so is it okay if I help myself to a coffee?
