Morning and welcome.

To anyone new this is the Happy Place Café, all food and drink served here is calorie free. Everyone is welcome.

There are some people who have been here for literally years and others are newer.

The staff are me, obviously, Florence a French pastry chef who is married to Fernando the cocktail waiter (no one knows where Fernando is from so we suspect the marriage was about visas).

In a previous incarnation one of the regulars was Tilly (RIP) who brought a sparkling light in to the café along with a lemur named Leo.

Leo runs a dog wash (Tilly had a golden retriever and her family agreed to the dog wash as a tribute) but as there are rarely and dogs around he will wash anything, his other interests are goats and eggs. He spends every morning cooking eggs.

Outside the café is seating and a water feature, the water feature becomes a swimming pool in summer and an ice rink in winter. There is also a petting zoo.

Other residents are the kittenbees who are kittens the size of a bee with wings, they are very gentle but like to nibble anything sweet. Please do not give them alcohol.

Outside is where their larger cousins the bumblecats live, they are about the size of a fist and a lot more feisty than the kittenbees.

There is normally a daily special for breakfast and sometimes there is a pack up / bait / packed lunch.

Now to breakfast.

I thought a little trip to Germany would fit this morning so Florence is making bread rolls, soft and crusty, Leo is baking / frying / boiling eggs and Fernando is serving Apfelkorn.

I put out a selection of cooked meats, cheeses, jam, nutella, marmalade and if you want that abomination that people wither love or hate, it is in a locked box in the garden, far from the café, that is where it is to be consumed.

Actually I watched a vid from 'Atomic Shrimp' the other day that featured the brown paste added to warm milk.

When a 24hr mcds opened in my city centre many many years ago I use to call in nearly every morning for their breakfast.
This is when they still sold it in a tray and if you timed it wrong I swear if I'd chucked the square of egg at the wall it would still be ricocheting now !
But of course yours @sashh will be perfect, so please can I have a sausage and egg muffin and a couple of hash browns please.

Ah yes, the 24 hour McDonalds. I was giving a friend and her son a lift to the airport early morning so I suggested a Maccy's breakfast. When I got there it was, apparently, "Too early for breakfast".

OK breakfast, I don't think we have ever been to Poland.

Florence is making bialys and babka, I'm making apple pancakes and plumb cake, with a selection of open sandwiches, Leo is making scrambled eggs and Fernando has polish vodka.

Well it is warm and humid here so I think we need something refreshing so I'll start juicing some fruit, Fernando is making smoothies with optional alcohol and Cuba libre.

Florence is making crapes and Leo is mixing the batter for her.

Another quiet morning I see, well I'm off to the petting zoo and swim in the pool.

I see there is lots of fruit juice left so can I have a glass of grapefruit and a glass of carrot and ginger please.

It looks like it is another quiet one so F and F have taken Leo out for the day. I'm just going to leave out bread, fruit, ham, cheese help yourselves or take it some for pack up.

I was planing on cold cuts , cheese and crackers for supper so can i rake a pack up please @sashh .
Are there any scotch eggs? I really fancy one but forgot to put it on my shopping list.

@ScottBakula you buy scotch eggs? They are not difficult to make (well they are tricky if you want a runny yolk) and you can bake them instead of frying.

It will keep Leo busy for a while, I'll get him on to that.

I think I'll skip cooking a breakfast and just make a sort of ploughman's, so cheese, pickled onions, sweet pickle and a bit of salad on the side.

Florence is making crusty cobs and Fernando has a selection of fruit beer.

I’ve been here but trying my real life old school paperback to get back to sleep. I’ll post tomorrow morning probably. 4.30 seems favoured wake up time !

@sashh I’d love a ploughman’s please for my tea (I’m northern ) and a cherry beer would be lovely

Well as it is still warm lets head to Türkiye.

So Florence is making brown bread, Leo is boiling eggs, help yourself to Turkish cheeses (cow and goats') and butter soaked in honey and a few tomatoes on the side.

Well it helped. Briefly awake 5.30 but went back to sleep. Does anyone want a brew ?

So I think this morning we should head for Costa Rica. A plate of gallo pinto with scrambled eggs on the side (it is traditional not just Leo's obsession).

Lets have a trip to Indonesia for nasi goreng, congee with shredded chicken. Florence is making roti and obviously Leo is going to add an egg on the side.

Morning all. That sounds delicious. Noticing how dark it is in the morning now. Tummy still rough so will stay off the beer and have a a ginger tea if there is any please ?

I'm leaving the place to you fine people.

I'm prepping for a colonoscopy, I've been on a low residue diet for 7 days. Combined with senna and another laxative.

Yesterday, I couldn't pee properly and there was definite burn. So I had to attend the hospital (my GP is closed on Thursday afternoon) to get antibiotics.

Then last night I was managing to get the prep down when I suddenly vomited, up came all the prep, well it looked like it was all of it.

Then I couldn't sleep and now I'm awake for round two.

I hope you managed to keep the prep meds down @sashh .
The procedure is never going to be pleasant but I hope it goes as well as those thinks can.

It's cool this morning so I think things on toast will go down well.
There is beans , cheese, fried or scrambled eggs, bacon , sausage, peanut butter , jam , marmalade, lemon curd , nuttella (< 🤢) , or ( while sashh isn't around) marmite, marmite peanut butter, marmite cheese .
Leo is at his egg station if uou want your eggs cooking any other way
Florence is making bloomers and crumpets .

Fernando has got several whisky and Maltby ales on the go.

Do you know I think beans on toast would do nicely thank you. Lovely meal. I hope @sashhiy was ok. I commented on your thread under my current user name as I had similar. I’m in bed solo tonight. Well Tattoodog is here too and have taken a melatonin. Here’s hoping. Otherwise I’ll sip a whisky in a chair quietly

I'm going to set out a breakfast of things I have not been allowed to eat for a week.

Cheese omelettes, tomatoes, cherries, fruit with seeds, fruit yoghurt.

Florence is making granary bread.

Leo wants to cook eggs so I have put him on the omelette station. Mushrooms, stuffed portobello and fried button mushrooms.

Fernando is serving a range of small brewery ales.
