The Happy Place Café and Tilly's dog wash is still open.

Morning and welcome.

To anyone new this is the Happy Place Café, all food and drink served here is calorie free. Everyone is welcome.

There are some people who have been here for literally years and others are newer.

The staff are me, obviously, Florence a French pastry chef who is married to Fernando the cocktail waiter (no one knows where Fernando is from so we suspect the marriage was about visas).

In a previous incarnation one of the regulars was Tilly (RIP) who brought a sparkling light in to the café along with a lemur named Leo.

Leo runs a dog wash (Tilly had a golden retriever and her family agreed to the dog wash as a tribute) but as there are rarely and dogs around he will wash anything, his other interests are goats and eggs. He spends every morning cooking eggs.

Outside the café is seating and a water feature, the water feature becomes a swimming pool in summer and an ice rink in winter. There is also a petting zoo.

Other residents are the kittenbees who are kittens the size of a bee with wings, they are very gentle but like to nibble anything sweet. Please do not give them alcohol.

Outside is where their larger cousins the bumblecats live, they are about the size of a fist and a lot more feisty than the kittenbees.

There is normally a daily special for breakfast and sometimes there is a pack up / bait / packed lunch.

Now to breakfast.

I thought a little trip to Germany would fit this morning so Florence is making bread rolls, soft and crusty, Leo is baking / frying / boiling eggs and Fernando is serving Apfelkorn.

I put out a selection of cooked meats, cheeses, jam, nutella, marmalade and if you want that abomination that people wither love or hate, it is in a locked box in the garden, far from the café, that is where it is to be consumed.

Actually I watched a vid from 'Atomic Shrimp' the other day that featured the brown paste added to warm milk.

Well it was another hot night so lets start with fruit juices, then I think we should head outside while Florence makes cheese and ham toasties, Fernando has some nice stout and Leo is poaching eggs to go on the side.

For pack up I think a nice fresh tabbouleh and some soft pita breads and middle eastern meatballs.

I hope you are all surviving the weather. I'm staying with cold food today so yoghurt with a selection of fruit and/or nuts. Leo has been hard boiling eggs and Florence has made some lovely soft bread so if anyone wants an egg, or to make an egg sandwich help yourself.

Fernando has buck's fizz.

For pack up I'm doing a chilled courgette and coriander soup, followed by a red salad (I'll pack the vinaigrette separately so it doesn't turn to mush) and lychees for pudding.

Well I'm running out of ideas for warm water breakfasts so I'm going to stick to the same things.

Fruit juices, fruit, yoghurt, coffee and tea.

Florence is making Cornish pasties for pack up, Leo has made rolled Japanese omelette and Fernando is making mocktails.

Oh no I missed stout and poached eggs 🙁.

Sorry for the late start IRL things are going on.

So this morning it is a little cooler I'm making kedgeree for breakfast and obviously it can be taken as a pack up.

Florence is making Normandy apple tart and Fernando has a selection or ciders. Leo is of course making the eggs for the kedgeree.

Hi all. Not feeling sleep yet so probably see you all later. I'm still struggling but got a snore free bed as DH away.
Although DDog snores it's a gentle rumble and very cute.

I have just had a look in my fridge there is plenty in there but

Leo is making Hungarian scrambled eggs so eggs with sausage and onion.

There is a selection of meats and greaves spread and Körözött to put on the bread Florence is making.

So today I think we need a trip to China. Now breakfast in China depends a lot on region so I am sticking to what you would find in a tourist spot.

Florence is making Deep fried dough sticks to serve in soya milk.

Leo is making pancake with eggs.

Fernando is serving Baijiu.

Wow it's quiet around here. I'm going to teach Leo to make pancakes, then fillings can be sweet or savoury.

I'll give F and F a day off.

The pool is open, don't worry about the ducks they are just enjoying a little swim.

Well you know what Leo is like once he gets in to something, well we are having pancakes again, savoury stuffed with cheese or cheese, bacon and mushrooms all crisped up in the oven.

Sweet ones with fruit and cream.

Florence is making crusty bread baguettes and Fernando has a selection of mocktails (not all are mock).

Wow another warm night. Do you think it is unreasonable if I serve ice cream?

Vanilla of course, chocolate, mint chocolate chip and raspberry ripple.

Florence is making various cones and wafers to go with and Fernando is making ice cream floats.

For pack up Leo is making scotch eggs, I'll put some coleslaw wit them.

I was working overnight so iv only just got up and will be having a kip later ! So ice cream for breakfast may be a bit much , can you ask Leo to make me a omelette with cheese onion and mushrooms please.

Well now I wish we’d been awake overnight, ice cream for breakfast sounds delightful. And you have my favourite - mint choc chip. Hopefully there’ll be some left tomorrow morning.

We’ve had some very good overnight sleep recently hence no visits but had the WORST unsettled evening so no idea what tonight will hold, I may be back in a few hours.

Ok I've moved Fernando, he is now serving from a bar in the pool.

Well ice cream seems popular so I'll keep that for a second day and add in lemon and peach sorbet.

For a pack up I have Leo making mini quiche, Florence has obviously made the pastry for him along with some soft bread rolls that I'll put ham and cheese in.
