Morning.

I'm just starting this before the last one fills up.

Morning.

Gin and Tonic - I'll get Fernando on to that as well as hot chocolate with hazelnut syrup and a dash of rum.

I'm currently velveting some chicken for a stir fry later but for now I'm making porridge and Florence is making chocolate muffins.

There you go @Tilllly ,

MinnieMountain · 25/01/2024 05:59

Morning

Porridge and hot chocolate please. I might have a rum one later.

sashh · 25/01/2024 07:56

Would you like some fruit in the porridge?

OP posts:
ScottBakula · 25/01/2024 20:13

@sashh I am now imaging you trying to get a velvet bolero jacket on to a chicken, but I guess that's not what you ment 😃.

Please can I have some porridge with a hand full of black currents mixed in.

Tilllly · 25/01/2024 21:42

Obviously that's what she meant
These are stylish chickens

ScottBakula · 25/01/2024 21:56

But all the other animals in the petting zoo will get jealous!

Tilllly · 25/01/2024 22:11

I'll make hats for the goats

sashh · 26/01/2024 03:05

Morning.

Lol at the petting zoo all dressed in tuxedos and ball gowns.

Do I need to make iny jackets for the kittenbees now?

@ScottBakula velveting is soaking meat to tenderise it, you can use various things, egg white or baking soda and ass some spices.

That's why food from a Chinese take away is soft.

OK breakfast.

Well as we are all dressed up I think eggs benedict with Florence's sourdough and Fernando's mimosas.

I think the kitten bees may struggle to fly with coats on except that one that keeps stealing the jam and coffee, sugar and caffeine and he is doing his impressive version of the wall of death !

@sashh , so it's a bit like marinating?
I am planning to do chicken breast in lime juice , chilli and pepper over the weekend.

Eggs benedict while wearing my posh frock ? Go on then but can I have a bib please 😳

sashh · 26/01/2024 09:18

@ScottBakula yes but it changes the texture of the meat as well as imparting flavour.

You can do it with baking soda, either brush the chicken with it and then after 1 mins rinse, or you could add it to the marinade - although if you do that the marinade with froth when you cook the chicken.

@ScottBakula
The kitten bees fly...?
I'm so confused

Tilllly · 27/01/2024 01:11

Waffles and croissants today? Bet @sashh can make them fancy

sashh · 27/01/2024 03:24

Morning.

@Tilllly of course they can fly, they are kittenbees.

Croissants? Florence makes some lovely ones, I'll takw some, split them and put cheese and ham in them and I'll get Florence to sugar glaze some as well.

Fernando is making mojitos.

OP posts:
Tilllly · 27/01/2024 04:32

That sounds extremely edible

I remember pre-Covid, being taken to some eatery in Meadowhell shopping centre. It sold amazing desserts - I remember someone having one that looked exactly like an apple 🍏. Incredible. And me being swayed by a croissant with cheese and ham - they all thought I was very odd. But it was delicious

I always forget how nice a mojito is

sashh · 27/01/2024 05:21

Cheese and ham in a croissant should not work, but it does.

Good morning. I followed @Tilllly in after she told me about the quality company here. I’m in hospital wide awake and bored and I can’t reach my preplanned bag of snacks. May I have a cheese and ham croissant?

sashh · 27/01/2024 06:15

@TopOfTheCliff of course you can. Would you like a hot drink too? I hope you feel better soon.

OP posts:
MinnieMountain · 27/01/2024 06:30

Croissants you say? I’m glad I popped by. I’ll have mine completely plain please. Yum.

We could make cloaks for the kittenbees.

Hello @TopOfTheCliff .

sashh · 27/01/2024 06:35

Here you go @MinnieMountain the kittenbees are going to be better dressed than me.

In fact the goats are better dressed than me.

OP posts:
MinnieMountain · 27/01/2024 06:44

Thank you @sashh .

I’d love to be able to carry off a cloak.

Tilllly · 27/01/2024 07:03

Hope asks if she can have some of the ham please
She's very snuggly this morning

Of course she can, not too much though, we need to think of her kidneys.

TopOfTheCliff · 27/01/2024 07:27

Thanks @sashh and company for the welcome and the croissant. I’m not ill I’ve just had a new hip fitted. They keep bringing me disgusting brown drinks that I can’t identify. I think the last one was tea. I would love a big cappuccino with chocolate sprinkles on top.

sashh · 27/01/2024 07:30

One cappuccino with chocolate on its way.
