Well I’m really feeling crap. I don’t suppose Florence has been baking so I can stick my arm through the door of the cafe and take home something to comfort me?

Hello! Just thought I'd pop by and see how everyone is doing. I'll pop the kettle on and have a tidy round ready for later. I'm feeling a bit sick so I'd like a ginger tea😁. I'll help myself and set up on the squashy armchair in the corner.

Sorry for another late start.

Wow this place is clean. Well Florence has been busy making cakes and gateaux, Fernando is making chocolate cocktails so lets have aa deliciously unhealthy cakes and alcoholic chocolate for breakfast.

I'll make some soup for later with granary bread, flasks available for anyone wanting a take out.

Thanks @NoTeaNoShade 😁 It's so lovely to have someone else make the tea. I'm intending on definitely being asleep tonight, but I might have some of Florence's cake and a chocolate cocktail before I go to bed.

Well as most of southern Europe swelters I thought we'd give Antarctica a try for breakfast.

It's illegal to take penguin eggs so no eggs today, Instead I'm making pemikan and sledging biscuits, Florence is baking fresh bread and bannocks. As it's cold we don't want the drinks to freeze Fernando is making vodka based cocktails. Please don't let the kittenbees drink the cocktails but they can have some biscuit crumbs.

Morning! I've not been in for a little while as remarkably have had a run of good sleep. DD is at a sleepover at her friends tonight and I never sleep quite as well when somebody is out of the house, so here I am!

I'll let the kitten bees out and help myself to a lovely hot chocolate. I'm on a pre holiday diet, but happily there are no calories here at THPC so I might even have cream on top!

DD is sleeping pretty soundly at the moment touch wood
I on the other hand have an awful sore throat and just can't sleep when I am poorly :-(

@StopStartStop kittenbees are just that, kittens the size of bees with wings. They are partial to sweet food and live inside the cafe.

There distant relatives the Bumblecats live in the garden, they are bigger and not as friendly as the kittenbees.

OK Breakfast. \Lets head to Iran for Iranian bread with paneer topped with walnuts. Hard boiled eggs, olives, rose petal jam and of course tea and coffee.

Florence is baking walnut cookies and Fernando is making pomegranates cocktails.

Hi may I join this fabulous community in the cafe? I have been inexplicably struck with insomnia the last 2 night since being hospitalised with severe migraine and blackouts earlier in the week.
I've never experienced insomnia before. It's very strange. I love my sleep and I don't even feel tired. Bizarre.

Anyway enough about me. I'll just start with a cup of tea and marvel at the kitten bees if that's ok

Welcome @TeamSpike there are quite a few insomniacs in this café, me included.

If this is your first time here there is a garden with a water feature, when it is hot it converts into a pool. Fernando is a cocktail waiter and if it is really hot he opens the ice bar.

Florence is a French pastry chef and makes amazing sweet foods.

@TeamSpike it really is the most delightful, beautiful place. It's largely a sanctuary for those who can't sleep for various reasons. It's a little oasis of calm and peace.

Apologies everyone - I popped in during the night while it was quiet, so I curled up in the big armchair and fell asleep. Those pomegranate cocktails are really special. I had two, which certainly helped the zzzs come.
I imagine Fernando has finished his shift by now, but I left him a little tip on the bar when I woke up.
