Morning.

I see there are left overs from yesterday so I'll make some crusty cob sandwiches with ham and cheese.

For breakfast I thought we could head for Japan. So grilled fish, miso soup, rice and pickles.

Florence is making some castella cakes and Fernando is, of course, making saki cocktails.

ScottBakula · 13/11/2023 13:38

Perhaps not traditionally Japanese but please can I have some grilled kippers and brown bread.
And a pack up of cheese and ham with Branston .

Sweetpea1532 · 13/11/2023 19:50

I've never tried castella cakes...Id love some in a packup.
Oh, I must try Fernando's saki cocktails. He's so innovative.
Cheers🍸

sashh · 14/11/2023 02:38

Morning.

@ScottBakula well we could do a second day of fish so kippers and kedgeree for all. Florence will bake some soft brown bread and Fernando, well I'm sure he can come up with something, possibly involving OJ and ginger.

Don't forget the animals in the petting zoo, just because they are indoors they still like visiors.

I feel we are missing hammocks
Hammocks would be good

MinnieMountain · 14/11/2023 04:50

Horray! I’ve arrived in time for kedgeree.
I’m going to sit in a big chair by the fire with coffee.

sashh · 14/11/2023 08:05

No hammocks until spring, then we can string some between the trees.

caterpillar GIF

Thank you for the kippers @sashh .

@Tilllly I think if we had been lay in hammocks over this past few days the wind would spin us around so fast we would be like caterpillars in cocoons

sashh · 15/11/2023 01:48

Morning.

Well fish seems to be popular but you can have too much of a good thing.

So I thought we could do apples and pears, Florence has some amazing cake recipes, Fernando is making cocktails with apple and/or pear juice and I'll chop some fresh to put with yoghurt or porridge.

OP posts:
ScottBakula · 15/11/2023 19:22

Good evening all,
@sashh please can I have porridge and apple and some apple cake for later.

sashh · 16/11/2023 02:05

Morning.

@ScottBakula Yes of course, I'm going to start leaving a pack up for you to pick up in the evening.

I think we will have a little bit of an American influence, so waffles and maple syrup. Maybe with some bacon.

Florence is making croissants and Fernando is experimenting with bourbon. Obviously there are the usual coffees and tees.

OP posts:
Tilllly · 16/11/2023 04:18

🤣🤣🤣@ScottBakula
Worth doing just to see that 😁

I've never been in a hammock

Tilllly · 16/11/2023 04:18

Ooh waffles sound amazing

MinnieMountain · 16/11/2023 05:31

Morning
Waffles, bacon and maple syrup sounds delicious. Then I’ll amble over to the petting zoo.

sashh · 16/11/2023 09:46

@ScottBakula I'm putting a cheese and bacon quiche in the fridge for you and a waffle in the microwave - just nuke for 3 mins.

OP posts:
Sweetpea1532 · 16/11/2023 20:35

Two extra crispy waffles, please, with lashings of butter, no syrup.
I can pop the waffles in the toaster oven if they are already cooked.

ScottBakula · 16/11/2023 21:02

@Tilllly , hammocks are comfy for a short while but I always feel like if I move to much or to quick I would end up in a cocoon or flat on my face underneath it 😂

@sashh , That is very much appreciated thank you.
Mmmm quiche and waffles very nice .I am due to finish work soon so that will go down very well.

Tilllly · 16/11/2023 21:15

See I like quiche but I overcook it
Runny wobbly quiche is grim

sashh · 17/11/2023 01:52

Morning.

Well I think I have a few eggs to use up so I'm going to make Spanish omelettes and to go with it Florence is making churros and Fernando is making Sangria.

@ScottBakula I'm making extra so there will be some in the fridge for you.

Obviously tea / coffee and a selection of fruit on the side.

OP posts:
Tilllly · 17/11/2023 03:22

Don't bet on it @ScottBakula
I'm hungry

NutellaEllaElla · 17/11/2023 03:49

Popping in to say hello. No offence but hope I'm not a regular! Maybe this board should be called the reluctant wide awake club

fivetriangulartrees · 17/11/2023 03:59

I've been away for few weeks (a lovely restful break in the land of nod) but I'm back after a nightmare and an overactive 3am imagination.

@sashh Are you recovered from your illness and fall?

Maybe just a cup of decaf tea and a soothing pat of the goats this morning and then I'll try to go back to sleep for a while.

sashh · 17/11/2023 05:05

@NutellaEllaElla you are welcome anytime and as infrequently as you want.

@fivetriangulartrees still not 100% but getting there, thank you for asking.

OP posts:
ScottBakula · 17/11/2023 21:24

A Spanish omelette is very much appreciated @sashh thank you.

@NutellaEllaElla , some of us have LOs, others suffer from insomnia, and others like me work odd shifts so having the cafe open at alsorts of hrs suits us all.

I am glad your are on the mend @sashh , keep aiming for the ladders .

sashh · 18/11/2023 08:43

Morning.

Well I was awake in the night but managed to get back to sleep.

So I think I fancy beans on toast, with a bit of bacon and cheese. I'll get Florence making a few different breads and Fernando is making tomato juice based cocktails.
