Morning, just starting a new thread for when the last one fills up.

I’ve asked Florence to make apple strudel in memory of my DM who died 3 years ago today. I’ll add croissants of various types for those who prefer something simpler.

The kitten bees are out. I’ve lured them with a bit of jam left over from the scones.

Wow this cold is hanging on so something simple today, florence is making sourdough breads for toast, Fernandois making gin cocktails.

I'm wandering through with a blanket to sit by the fire.

Sourdough and poached eggs. Yum.

We have been surviving on weird combos since a food delivery mix up (our fault) at our new house, dreaming about normal stuff.

IRL I seem to be in a cycle of sleep for 4-6 hours and then awake for the same. I'm thinking I might need to talk to the Dr.

So I don't care it is dark and wet, I'm firing up the BBQ for sausages for breakfast, Florence is making soft bread rolls and Fernando is making treacle cocktails - it's a;; in prep for bonfire night.

So by 8pm I'm shattered, and go to bed, then wake up at 2

It's pouring down here, I can hear it like a river down the street

Think I quite fancy baked potatoes by the fire please

I have some potatoes in foil in the charcoal, they'll be a couple more mins.

Oooh please can I have a jacket spud from the fire , I love the proper crispy skin.
And of course it has to have chees and beans on it.

If the bbq is still lit can someone chuck a couple of foil wraped heads of garlic in there, I will have it spread on some of Florence's lovely flat breads.

Hands over potatoes with cheese and beans (have you had this with some crispy streaky bacon - well worth trying it).

Mmm, no I haven't but bacon improves everything so I will definitely give it a go.

Well I think I am about 1% better so I'm sticking to something simple.

Toast. Florence can make a selection of breads and I'll toast them and there are a few things to put on them, beans,cheese and bacon for a savory hit and jam, marmalade, honey and crushed banana or avocado.

Fernando is experimenting with meade.

So feeling slightly human this morning So I'm frying a variety of bacon, back, smokey, unsmokey, maple, dry cured...

Florence is making a range of soft breads so help yourselves to sauces.

Well still snuffling and sneezing.

Someone mentioned tomatoes.

Yes I have a variety, stuffed beefsteak tomatoes, small yellow ones to eat fresh, fried green tomatoes, grilled tomatoes still on the vine fried tomatoes maybe a small plate of bruschetta.

Florence will make a range of breads and some pastries, maybe a tomato tart.

Fernando is making bloody Mary and variations of.

Have never had little yellow or fried green ones tho... am intrigued

Had broncoscopy today so have snoozed most of day.... going to be a long night...

Well as storm Babette is threatening I'm just doing pack ups, then I'll get the animals into shelter and the kitten bees all safe.

So for pack up

Sausage rolls
ham and cheese sandwiches
A flask of tomato soup
smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels

Florence is making some cheese twists and some red pepper tarts

Fernando is making small flasks of gin and tonic and rum and coke.

Well it is still wet and cold but there are loads of ;leaves on the ground so if you have children wellies and puddle suits are the order of the day.

I'm going to set up a hot dog / burger van in the garden, florence is making chocolate cakes of various types and Fernando is making mulled wine and cider, and warm apple juice for any children.

Please can I have a burger with exta gherkins and a mulled wine.
For the next days I have a load of test / exams so I need greasy food and the occasional sniffter to keep me going

OK so IRL is getting in the way.

I'm currently waiting for a supermarket delivery. But my card has been declined, so I'm waiting for the payment line to open which is half an hour after my delivery

Also my dad is visiting so I may not be around for a few days.

So I'm handing out food parcels of bacon, eggs, sausages, tomatoes, beans, black pudding, potato cakes, bread, hash browns tea and coffee.

Florence and Fernando will be around for requests.

I hope you managed to sort out your shopping delivery and you and your dad have a good few days together.
Have you got anything special planned?

A full English breakfast and a flask of coffee would go down very well
