Thank you sashh , it was very nice .

ScottBakula · 06/09/2023 12:43

We all know that the food and drinks in this wonderful cafe are tasty, have no calories and Fernando's cocktails don't give you a hangover.
But if any of the posters ( or their family/ friends) on this thread turn up please can we all ensure the are firmly but kindly guided away from the kitchen !

Two can have carrots, but one prefers a banana. Thank you.

They will happily scoff grass and stay away from everything, unless someone rustles a packet of mints. Then it might be a free for all.

sashh · 07/09/2023 00:47

Morning.

Still warm so Fernando is in the icebar making cocktail ice cream floats. Florence has made a huge batch of baguettes so I'm making open sandwiches, sort of tapas style with ham or salami and olives, egg mayo, cucumber, cheese.

Place an order and possibly take a few for lunch later.

Carrots and bananas are there for any friendly popogees (family word for horses).

OK I'm off to read the bad meals thread.

Morning,

I'll take an ice cream float and do some moon bathing by the door. An open faced sandwich would be delightful once I've woken from my moon nap 🌙

sashh · 07/09/2023 01:28

No problem @NoTeaNoShade

MinnieMountain · 07/09/2023 07:48

Morning
Could I have a cucumber and cream cheese baguette please?

I like to pop in when I wake up at 4 to reassure myself you’re still here but I don’t order in case there’s a chance of going back to sleep.

sashh · 07/09/2023 09:36

Very sensible @MinnieMountain one cucumber and cream cheese baguette.

ScottBakula · 07/09/2023 18:02

Are there any ham and cream cheese baguettes left ? One of the and pint of thatchers 0% cider would be very nice.

sashh · 08/09/2023 05:28

Morning.

Cider? What an excellent idea, I'll get Fernando on the case. Maybe some perry too.

Florence is taking up the theme and making apple cake.

So lets have an orchard type theme so apple and pear chutneys. Bramble jam. Fruit cheese. All to be spread on fresh baguettes.

I'll also make some pancakes and waffles.

NoTeaNoShade · 08/09/2023 05:59

<Settles in for the orchard abundance>

Can I do anything to help in the cafe?

MinnieMountain · 08/09/2023 06:17

Morning
Perry and an apple pancake please.
The garden is looking lovely today.

sashh · 08/09/2023 06:52

@NoTeaNoShade you don't need to but if you want you can take this tray out to @MinnieMountain.

IRL I have received photographic evidence that the 'justice for bumblecats' has had a tour of Osaka in Japan.

ScottBakula · 08/09/2023 09:53

I don't finish work until 3pm so I think I'll stay off the cider for now but I will definitely have one this evening.
In the meantime some apple cake would be very nice .

Do you have a recipe for America style pancakes ? I seem to have rather a lot of butter milk lying around 😀

sashh · 08/09/2023 10:38

Sorry I only do British pancakes. Have some cake though.

OP posts:
ScottBakula · 08/09/2023 11:27

Ooh cake , thank you.

>>wanders off to Google American pancakes<<

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 08/09/2023 16:47

👋 hello! I'd forgotten how lovely this cafe is. Orchard abundance sounds amazing! Can I have a bit of baguette with some cheese and chutney and another bit with some hedgerow jam? I've brought some rhubarb ice lollies if anyone wants one?

MrsMigginscoffee · 08/09/2023 23:48

Are we open yet? Could do with a tea. My teen DS has come home very drunk from a party so I'm lying here fretting after hearing him be sick. I've been to check him but will be awake a wee bit longer I read

sashh · 09/09/2023 01:37

Morning.

@MrsMigginscoffee that's not great, hopefully it is a one off.

OK Florence is making buttermilk pancakes, sorry I don't have a recipe. I'm going to do hot food from a hot (ost of the time) country so India.

Dhosas, puris, bhajis and pakoras with some salty yoghurt on the side. Tea is always on offer but today I have green cardamom pods to split and sterilised milk.

Fernando has some Indian whiskey

OP posts:
MrsMigginscoffee · 09/09/2023 07:24

I got back to sleep after a bit of nursing
Could just nail that feast now though
Especially anything with cardamom. Love it.

sashh · 09/09/2023 07:32

@MrsMigginscoffee I'll put it on a tray like a thali, would you like tea with cardamom?

Oh yes please. I had colleagues in my last jobs who knew the best places to order good chai and I miss the hot sweet and aromatic comfort. I'm ready to eat and then maybe snooze again. Thank you 🙏

ScottBakula · 10/09/2023 03:18

Please can I have some pakora, chicken or mushroom ones would be nice.
I have never tried cardamom and milk before so I will give that a go to please, is it served hot or cold ?
