Friends
Only Fools and Horses
Merlin (my DH has this and I physically leave the room when its on though)
Lost

MrsBadger · 23/02/2010 16:11

I liked Studio 60
Dr Who? Buffy?

VintageGardenia · 23/02/2010 16:15

Mad Men first two seasons.

In Treatment? They are only half an hour each so goodish for broken attention / dozing off etc.

Actually if it were me having a baby again I think I'd get something really looong like I, Claudius but it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea. Last time I was on the sofa feeding for hours on end the Olympics were on, blessing!

Good luck with your new baby!

The Wire?

crumpetsolo · 23/02/2010 16:20

Ooh, I love boxsets. Dexter is brilliant - very dark comedy about a serial killer who works for the crime lab, it's really engaging. 30 Rock (with Tina Fey) is hilarious - although this is starting to be shown on E4 now as well. Arrested Development is also good - it has Michael Cera in it (of Youth in Revolt, Juno, Superbad) - very funny but gets a bit samey after a couple of series.

SleepingLion · 23/02/2010 16:26

Buffy and Angel obviously!

House is fabulous.

Have you thought of joining LoveFilm? We watch series that we enjoy but aren't bothered about owning that way - we currently have Bones on the go and are thinking of watching Mad Men this way too.

OOh Bloss just beat me to it. Cant beat the west wing. Although tv will never be good enough for you again once you reach the end of the 7 seasons.

Greys anatomy. Vicar of Dibley if you like the humour of it. Glee ditto, your new baby would probably enjoy the background noise of it.

Cant really picture your babay drifting off to sleep after a feed to the sound of any police shows imo - i would avoid anything with loud sudden noises to be honest!

Remember the Neighbours study? How babies of mothers who watched neighbours during pregnancy became animated and relaxed and showed recognition of the tune after birth? I would start practising your boxset viewing now!

redroof · 23/02/2010 16:51

If you like your comedy, go for Black Books. Stars Dylan Moran and Bill Bailey. Classic!

Dont forget your local library - often better than youd think for boxsets. Trick is to check the online catalouge and reserve as they wont be on the shelf

BooToYouToo · 23/02/2010 18:47

I remember being obsessed with any babyrelated TV on SKY so you may not need the box sets if you have satellite/cable. Would watch all the gory programmes showing births (to reassure myself I wasn't such a wimp after all) and even remember being glued to a show called Baby's Room which was a house makeover show where they made over a nursery.

During the night it was too much effort to go downstairs and watch TV so just stuck the radio on and grabbed a trashy magazine.

sparklyrainbow · 23/02/2010 21:12

Cold Feet

LauraIngallsWilder · 23/02/2010 21:15

My boxsets:
All creatures great and small
The Waltons
Little house on the prarie
Grange Hill

I have an 70s80s thing going on..........

PureAsTheColdDrivenSnow · 23/02/2010 21:40

Buffy
Angel
House
West Wing (seriously - its amazing)
My So Called Life (if you're about 30)
Battlestar Galactica
Studio 60 on the sunset strip
South Park (does anybody on here actually like that?)

Not friends - you'll constantly be watching in on the mad'o'clock watch until DP gets home

You need Love Film or your local library. Did you know you can reserve DVD's on your local library site? (google your town/city plus library and it should come up)

Poledra · 23/02/2010 21:48

Firefly - watched this when feeding DD2

PureAsTheColdDrivenSnow · 23/02/2010 21:57

yes - definitely Firefly! If you watch that, get serenity (the film) to watch after.

(will be back later with more, hopefully!)

hmmSleep · 23/02/2010 22:07

Ooh yes, I third Firefly.

A good book that you can dip in and out of is better for night feeds though imo.
