Think the 'cocks off the table' thing was a direct quote!

MmeLindt - it has been suggested that her brain tumour made her even more disinhibited than she already was.

milge · 31/01/2010 22:23

he's playing Adam Ingram - was also Billy Elliott's dad in the film starring JW.

policywonk · 31/01/2010 22:24

I am watching, cause lots of it was filmed in Hillsborough Castle, which is right in the middle of our vilage - keep getting little glimses.

oh dear i don't like to think of her becoming so embittered at the end. i hope that party scene wasn't true.

i think i'd have written this drama very differnetly, the idea that the tumour may have provided her much-loved character is really fascinating but only touched on at the end. missed a big trick there, i think.

4/10

AitchTwoOhOneOh · 31/01/2010 23:06

workmanlike, imo. who wrote it?

OP posts:
AitchTwoOhOneOh · 31/01/2010 23:08

neil mckay. wrote the moors murderers thing that i didn't like, apart from that mostly holbys and heartbeats.

MmeLindt · 31/01/2010 23:09

It was not really gripping. I was MNetting and searching for ferries/flights throughout.

Agree that the notion of her character being formed by the tumour was an interesting premise that was not really followed up on.

Blair, and particularly Mandy did not come off well.

policywonk · 31/01/2010 23:10

Mmm yeah, Holby is about right. Lord, there are so many great writers out there - why do they commission such honkers?

policywonk · 31/01/2010 23:11

I've been looking at bunkhouses in the west country

milge · 31/01/2010 23:12

why did they cast the "very naughty husband indeed" from FWAAF as Jon Norton - I couldn:t take him seriously> A pity. Also portrayed david Trimble in a poor light, imho> The actor playing Trimble looked like Jon Norton, which confused me

ilovemydogandmrobama · 31/01/2010 23:13

My take on it was that the bitterness was the personality change.

AitchTwoOhOneOh · 31/01/2010 23:14

someone like frank deasy would have brought out the darkness i think, or donna franceschild for the feminism and politics. what was her motivation, really? a drunk dad? the cancer? where did that sister spring from?

felt like he'd just sat down and transcribed her autobiography tbh.
