found this recap for anyone forgetful like me

PfftTheMagicDragon · 27/01/2010 20:36

yes, miss wonk. It was a slow starter this season, but the finale is one of the best finales of a tv show I have ever seen.

BradSplit · 27/01/2010 20:37

policywonk · 27/01/2010 20:39

The actor who plays Pete comes across as incredibly nice IRL

BradSplit · 27/01/2010 20:39

he HASno real life goddamit wonk
he is pete

policywonk · 27/01/2010 20:44

Yes of course, I do 'pologise

PfftTheMagicDragon · 27/01/2010 20:47

he does such a good job because Pete is so (less so as the series goes on though) hateful and well played.

policywonk · 28/01/2010 00:10

Well that Ann-Margret clip was truly bone-chilling.

Also, it turns out that Roger Stirling's daughter is Cheryl Cole.

BradSplit · 28/01/2010 10:03

lol i thought that too

Oh I missed the significance... what was the date? (It is JF...?)

policywonk · 28/01/2010 10:12

What did you think Len?

The beginning was just filling in some of Don's back-story - we already knew that he had escaped an abusive family and stolen the identity of a man he fought with in the Korean war; this was just establishing a bit further how massively fucked-up he is, identity-wise.

Ah. I would heartily recommend getting the DVDs of Series 1 and 2. It's v good and interesting about feminism (and what society did to women before feminism became a mass movement).

Well we're in early 60s and Don is probably 40ish, so that scene would have been 1910s/20s.

Yes I can imagine it would have been difficult to watch. Most of the series isn't like that - it's v glossy and well-tailored mostly.

policywonk · 28/01/2010 10:20

We have our posts out of sync

There are LOADS of central women - they're the heart of the show really.
