did that sax player get through.
I only watched the auditions, so havn't watched any of this.

Joolyjoolyjoo · 29/05/2009 22:49

I felt really uncomfortable watching her. Couldn't help feeling that if I were her mum (although would never let any of my kids bare themselves to the general public like that, tbh!) I would have been charging onto the stage shouting, "Enough!", hugging her and taking her home. Yeah, I know she wants to do it etc etc etc, but my dd wants to be a fairy princess- should I insist she marries Prince Harry and arrange a plastic surgeon to fit her with wings? Sometimes the parents have to "know better"

misdee · 29/05/2009 22:49

2shoes, sexy sax guy got through.

the human saxaphone didnt

you · 29/05/2009 22:53

Agree the mum is at fault here- why she insisted the poor girl was given another chance instead of giving her a giant hug and telling her she did well, then taking her home to bed is beyond me

Kimi · 29/05/2009 22:54

We onlt have this shite on because my mother is here and she loves brain rotting television

Pixel · 30/05/2009 00:02

I can't bear to watch any of it, it is so obviously manipulated to keep the attention of the baying mob viewers.

I will however admit to looking at a couple of the acts on YouTube out of sheer nosiness after they appeared in the papers .

hmc · 30/05/2009 00:06

What are you doing watching this banal shit anyway (she asks pleasantly)?

LynetteScavo · 30/05/2009 00:12

I blame the parents.

I was wathching with DS (10) and DH

I got quite irate at how everyone was fussing over the poor little girl for getting stage fright.

My Ds was shit scared just going into school at the age of 8 and no one fussed around him. He was just seen as some awkward boy who kicked out for no reason.

For that reason, I don't think Holly should have been given another chance.....would the same thing have happend if the 11yo break- dancer had forgotten his moves and cried? I doubt it.

evaangel2 · 30/05/2009 00:14

The thing that gets me is ok, she broke down, it was horrible to watch but then the mother is at the side of the stage, she clutched on to Dec with her dear life and was allowed a re run then voted in the final by the judges.
If that was my child I would of pulled her off that stage, that was obviously over whelming for her and the parents should of been ashamed of themselves.

LynetteScavo · 30/05/2009 00:15

Isn't the whole thing supposed to be FUN?

Pixel · 30/05/2009 00:27

See, now this thread has made me go and watch it on Youtube, bloomin' mumsnet is a bad influence.

It was grim wasn't it? I could only watch half the video.

Molesworth · 30/05/2009 00:32

I still can't believe that the judges put that little girl through when clearly she's suffering from major stage fright and shouldn't be subjected to another (even bigger) ordeal tomorrow: it's madness. And to think the other night Amanda Holden buzzed Jamie Pugh because it made her feel uncomfortable to watch him ...

Poor old Greg.

thumbwitch · 30/05/2009 00:36

Grim indeed.
The child has serious histrionic issues - far too highly strung for something like this; if she really couldn't control her nerves at this stage, should she have gone through? She seemed ready enough to have another go immediately - I got the impression that she forgot her words the first time round and then went into nervous meltdown over it, but the tears seemed very hysterical and a bit on/off depending on whether or not she was getting what she wanted.

If she ever gets her recording contract she'll probably be a complete "diva".

ssd · 30/05/2009 07:54

I don't know why your being so nasty to the child, she's 10 FGS!

its the idiot mother who's to blame

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 30/05/2009 08:41

Now you've got me checking it on youtube, goddamnyouall!

Whilst I did feel a bit sorry for her, there was a definite foot stamping "I want to get my own prima donna way" thing going on, complete with fake tears. Actually, not fake, just not as they might appear to the sympathetic viewer. My 4YO does it when he doesn't get his own way. That doesn't work on me either.

The mother deserves the slap for letting her get away with that behaviour.

Kimi · 30/05/2009 09:08

I think she comes across as a brat, a nasty spoilt brat.

Bet she wont have a good day at school on Monday!

inscotland · 30/05/2009 09:40

She wasn't even crying. There were no tears. She was making a noise that is all. She got the public sympathy vote and was allowed to perform again. I didn't agree with her getting a second chance as others from earlier in the week who were suffering from nerves didn't. Favouritisim to a small child. She wanted to perform but she should have known the consequences.

tiredemma · 30/05/2009 10:01

She was 'dry sobbing'.

I thought that she behaved like a spoilt brat.

GrapefruitMoon · 30/05/2009 10:01

I thought this was going to be a thread about children's football matches!

Docbunches · 30/05/2009 10:13

In our house, we all cheered loudly when the adorable and super-talented Aidan got the most votes from the public.

Regarding Hollie, at first I felt sorry for her, then suspected she was milking it for all she was worth (when she realised she had forgotten her words).

The only worthy winners tonight would be either Flawless, Diversity, Aidan or Shaheen, actually I don't care - anyone but Su-Bo or Hollie.

I am glad I am not the only one that feels that way!

You say kids shouldn't be allowed on but look how well Aidan did and he's 11 or is it 12 now? Other kids managed ok. She forgot her lines and milked it.

Kimi · 30/05/2009 10:41

Well she may not be the most talented but she is the most manipulative.

Megglevache · 30/05/2009 11:12

I imagined my ds being on that stage and I think I would of just scooped them up and taken her to get a Mcnoodle and cake then taken the fuse ou tof the TV all weekend.

I think it was terrible they let her go on again. It was awful seeing her corpse like that on stage, I agree she's not ready. I think she will be voted out today and there will be a few more tears then a few spreads in OK magazine and quite a few guest apprearances on the GMTV couch. Mum will be thrilled.
