I am sure he wanted those two boys from the start and it has just been heavily edited to make them look possibly more useless, esp front of house bloke, than they are (cynical old bag emoticon).

James is the only one who could possibly be in contention for being a chef in business with raymond. Front of house can probably be 'trained up' as, after all, it isn't rocket science...all that ironing tablecloths and putting cutlery pointing the right way. Can't believe anyone really, really cares that much. That 'expert' (the one that irons the tablecloths) is really annoying. Most peculiar.

But they are shit, have been shit week in, week out and are disorganised and arrogant.
I know they are all edited, but my naive side just wanted True Prov to win. Even to they were unprofitable. BUT those 2 boys are shit....

I reckon Fivegomad's sister is right. RB knows James is the best chef and FOH can be sorted. Although Ali is getting better and I don't think James likes it.

BFL - reckon you are right. Much better television to have a 'much improved' pair win than a 'pretty good all along'. Also Mr Poodle is a bit odd and should think working with the pair of them would be tough. The closets can be trained. James reminds RB of his younger self.

Mr Weirdy eyes should have known better on the food costs and profit margins - I don't think he's a very flexible cook - has fixed ideas and I'm sure good at what he planned to do (food wise) but couldn't adapt so easily.

James can cook - but I'd be concerned that he has never stuck at anything too long - but he does learn and change but rather arogant. Ali seems to have improved but has the look of a nervous rabbit often!

Can lovey dovey couple get through - think they could run their own place but not sure up to Raaaymonds expectatiiioons??

What was Mr Lovedove doing with the risotto?? What a silly boy - he lost it completely. Gave poodlegirl no help at all (don't get what happened with her shoddy FOH either as it's not normally so bad). Interesting to hear poodlegirl praised by poncetastic judge. Think Mr Lovedove did earn some respect for adapting the dishes to his own style (dare i say improving re turbot) but then lost said respect cause the shellfish wasn't on the menu!

Closetboys getting respect for super speedy service - many times mentioned "Bistro" service - thought they wanted to be fine dining. And no bread? que? (felt it was rather pantomime over the top horror at no bread!)

Clangers. Well, such a shame - but i can't stand the faces mr clanger pulls so it's for the best really. Felt a bit sorry for them, he at least supported her when things got tough - he just didn't have much of a clue.

I want the boys to win. I think they have by far the best attitude. I thought James was arrogant but now I don;t think so because he gets so emotional when he does well and takes criticism on board very easily. I think he's just a passionate, good cook with a winning smile! Love Alasdair too; like his humour.

And boys are not gay; can't see how people could possibly think they are.

RTKanga - are you allowed to say yet which restaurant you visited (or have you already as I haven't read the entire thread)

I want the lads to win as even though they make such huge cockups they seem to take it all in their stride. Think RB must like them too otherwise they would have gone long ago. I'm guessing its because they are young & he can basically tell them what to do & they will jump (ie the best ones to have as business partners). Not sure he sees other lot in the same way from what he has said to them in the past.

Anyone know what happened to last years winners - I want a follow up prog!

The boys are definitely not gay. I have two close friends that they really remind me of. They have been friends since they were toddlers and are insanely close. We call them the married couple, as thats just how their friendship is.
