the subject title says it all really. ds has just discovered Bob and dh and i have been trying to work out what the relationship is between bob and wendy. have seen the episodes where they met as "kids" but later episodes suggest some unresolved sexual tension we reckon.. there must be someone out there who has seen every episode and knows?? thanks

I reckon Wendy is the brains of the outfit and Bob just the amiable front man (as in Remington Steele, if anyone remembers that...)

MuffinMclay · 03/07/2008 13:29

Oh yes, Wendy flirted on the phone with the brother, I seem to recall.

Fimbo · 03/07/2008 13:38

Weren;'t they supposed to be introducing Wendy's sister as a bit of skirt for Bob to make Wendy jealous

Fimbo · 03/07/2008 13:43

Wendy ? Bob's business partner who runs the office and keeps the business in order, and often organizes tools and equipment. An underlying romantic tension between Bob and Wendy is hinted at in several episodes.
Farmer Pickles ? a nearby farmer who sometimes helps out with Bob's projects.

From Wikipedia

MuffinMclay · 03/07/2008 13:55

Does Farmer Pickles have a wife? I've never spotted one.

Egg · 03/07/2008 13:58

Miss Hoolie and PC Plum are so not getting it on, despite them kissing under the Mistletoe during the song in Seeking Santa. PC Plum and Archie is another matter (anyone seen the Panto one where they dress up as the Ugly Sisters?).

As for Bob and Wendy, I always thought they worked together and played together, so to speak, but nothing "serious".

BibiThree · 03/07/2008 14:22

I think Wendy has a special place in her heart for Bob after a drunken fling and believes once he's finished playing around he'll marry her and give her babies! Bob on the other hand, just isn't that into her - but is too stupid to see how she feels and thinks they are fine as "friends".

Sunshinemummy · 03/07/2008 14:26

Agree re. PC Plum and Archie - PC Plum is the campest policeman I have ever seen.

Never noticed the Bob/Wendy UST. Will have to watch more closely.

Upsy Daisy is clearly a cock-tease and Iglle Piggle is full of unrequited love for her.

BibiThree · 03/07/2008 14:29

Agree with you assessment of Upsy Daisy - she a slut.

Egg · 03/07/2008 14:31

She lifts up her skirt all the time. Poor Iggle. Perhaps he could get it on with one of the Tombliboos instead? Or a Hahoo?

fryalot · 03/07/2008 14:33

"poor iggle"

Poor iggle indeed! he's so arrogant! "yes my name is iggle piggle..." who does he think he is? gah!

Egg · 03/07/2008 14:42

He is just confirming it. It's quite a tricky name to say, esp for someone like Upsy, or the Tombliboos, or Makka Pakka (none of whom can actually speak).

fryalot · 03/07/2008 14:44

but the way he struts around as if he owns the place!

And dances around when he's supposed to be asleep. It's as if he's saying "fuck you, I'm not going to sleep because I'm IGGLE FUCKING PIGGLE"

Egg · 03/07/2008 14:50

But let's face it, he is good looking....

Sunshinemummy · 03/07/2008 14:59

I don't think he's arrogant. I think he fawns after that bitch Upsy Daisy like a love sick puppy and she just uses him and then buggers off to her bed, or megaphone or whatever else it is she feels like inflicting on us tonight.

fryalot · 03/07/2008 15:00

iggle piggle or Harrison Ford

yes, you're right, good looking

LittleMyDancing · 03/07/2008 15:09

I'm more worried about Makka Pakka going to bed with his favourite stone.... is that where the phrase 'getting your rocks off' comes from?

Egg · 03/07/2008 15:39

Nothing wrong with sleeping with stones... DS1 does that .

As for Harrison or Iggle, I would choose the blue lad every time .

marcopront · 27/03/2010 10:20

Sorry to up this old thread but has any one seen the episode where Wendy has a psrty for her sister. She intoduces Bob as someone special but surely if Bob and Wendy were childhood friends the sister would know him?

I am sure there is an oportunity for someone to write an adult version of Bob the Builder.

Antioxidant · 29/03/2010 13:24

I think that Wendy holds a candle for Bob. As Ruby pointed out, you need to check out the Line-dancing episode.

Spud is complex and I for one am enjoying my ongoing interaction with the text, so to speak. I think that Sp represents an important archetye, which is why all of us experience quite a strong reation to him, whether acknowledged or denied, and I know that is true for myself.

I am delighted that Bob has played such a huge part in my child-rearing experience.

Will we ever know?

I suppose the inevitable autobiographies will be out in a couple of decades, if not sooner.

I listen to the CD which includes 'Mambo number 5' only occasionally these days. I thought they copied B.

Antioxidant · 29/03/2010 13:28

How old is Wendy?

I sort of assume them to both be in twenties BUT that was a few years ago now. Wendy can't stay in that job forever. She could be retraining without us knowing about it.

I agree with the poster who suggested it was a Rosss and Rachel situation, in which case the joke is on us. It's all a pr stunt and we fell for it.

On the other hand, remember Kylie and Jason? He wasn't gay after all.

Antioxidant · 29/03/2010 13:31

Just read the posts; Shiney, how could you not have noticed that W holds a candle for B that you could see across the Solent? I am not even an expert.

SoupDragon · 29/03/2010 13:38

Wendy is acting as Bob's "beard. he is actually in a relationship with Farmer Pickles.

Antioxidant · 29/03/2010 13:43

Oh Dear, I have just noticed that is a very old thread.

I haven't kept abreast of Bob. Oh, I suppose that he and W are a couple of kids down the line by now, and probably on mn too!
