New 6 part drama starting mon 14 sept

On Mon Tue Wed and same following week

Based on book by Graham Norton

Is there no end to Graham Norton’s talent? Known for his quick wit and charm as a chat show host, he's also the author of several bestselling novels, one of which is about to be brought to life on the small screen. Forever Home is the "twisty, dark romp" that's making its way to Channel 5 - and we have a strong feeling that mystery fans are going to love it.

It focuses on a wife Carol , just settling into a second marriage when she makes a horrible discovery.

So horrible that she begins to suspect her husband is hiding a (very) dark secret - in fact, she thinks he might have committed murder.

When her older partner Robert's dementia worsens, Carol Crottie starts to wonder if the reason he won’t leave his home has something to do with the whereabouts of his first wife, who ran off with Robert’s brother 20 years ago, leaving behind their two young children Kaden and Sally.

"When Robert’s anxiety about the house’s hidden basement, rises, Carol’s curiosity is piqued as she and her mother investigate the whereabouts of Robert’s first wife, Joan.

But the secrets Robert has kept will take a long time to untangle."

Robert her new husband told her about his first wife running away might just be a lie.

It might also explain why he's so reluctant to sell the family home.

A great cast including cast that includes the likes of Amy Nuttall (Emmerdale (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/emmerdale/)), Douglas Henshall (Shetland (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/shetland-season-11-confirmed-newsupdate/)), Denise Welch (Coronation Street (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/coronation-street/)), Lewis Cope (Strictly Come Dancing (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/entertainment/strictly-come-dancing-2026-cast-line-up/)), Jenny Walser (Heartstopper (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/heartstopper-forever-netflix-review/)), Shane Zaza (Happy Valley), Kevin Whately (Lewis) and James Baxter.

Don’t go in the basement …………..

Poor DCs indeed.

We should have guessed the loose wooden pineapple finial would be relevant

Tobacco · 24/09/2026 08:40

I thought the baby was going to be Martha and her boyfriend's but it wasnt

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/09/2026 09:06

So they wrapped it up and dad said he did it to protect his family at the end as they wouldn’t prosecute him due to his dementia

but he didn’t know there was a body in the freezer. Is that it

No I think he knew. That’s why he didn’t let anyone go down there. The kids didn’t know though.

Specialneedsnightmare · 24/09/2026 11:15

Kaden didn't know what happened to the body, he was very young. But his dad totally knew.

I really like this drama , well acted especially by the one playing the step mum and nice to see Kevin Whatley too.

the80sweregreat · 25/09/2026 15:22

The blame is also very good. Michelle Keegan is great in it.

I also thought the step mum was excellent.

Sally annoyed me she was v in your face but i liked now the outcome showed why she was the way she was.

I’ve just watched all 6 episodes, it was watchable atleast.

I haven’t seen Denise Welch in anything since Benidorm, apart from being a panellist on Loose Women.

Her ex husband Tim Healy was also in that with her.

Tim Healy was also in Auf Weidersehen Pet which also starred Kevin Whatley, who played Denise Welch’s husband Dave in this.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/10/2026 09:48

oh complex

I thought it was watchable atleast , which is not always the case with channel 5 dramas!

Amy Nuttall did quite well with a Northumberland accent I thought.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/10/2026 19:49

Def watchable
