New 6 part drama starting mon 14 sept

On Mon Tue Wed and same following week

Based on book by Graham Norton

Is there no end to Graham Norton’s talent? Known for his quick wit and charm as a chat show host, he's also the author of several bestselling novels, one of which is about to be brought to life on the small screen. Forever Home is the "twisty, dark romp" that's making its way to Channel 5 - and we have a strong feeling that mystery fans are going to love it.

It focuses on a wife Carol , just settling into a second marriage when she makes a horrible discovery.

So horrible that she begins to suspect her husband is hiding a (very) dark secret - in fact, she thinks he might have committed murder.

When her older partner Robert's dementia worsens, Carol Crottie starts to wonder if the reason he won’t leave his home has something to do with the whereabouts of his first wife, who ran off with Robert’s brother 20 years ago, leaving behind their two young children Kaden and Sally.

"When Robert’s anxiety about the house’s hidden basement, rises, Carol’s curiosity is piqued as she and her mother investigate the whereabouts of Robert’s first wife, Joan.

But the secrets Robert has kept will take a long time to untangle."

Robert her new husband told her about his first wife running away might just be a lie.

It might also explain why he's so reluctant to sell the family home.

A great cast including cast that includes the likes of Amy Nuttall (Emmerdale (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/emmerdale/)), Douglas Henshall (Shetland (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/shetland-season-11-confirmed-newsupdate/)), Denise Welch (Coronation Street (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/soaps/coronation-street/)), Lewis Cope (Strictly Come Dancing (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/entertainment/strictly-come-dancing-2026-cast-line-up/)), Jenny Walser (Heartstopper (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/heartstopper-forever-netflix-review/)), Shane Zaza (Happy Valley), Kevin Whately (Lewis) and James Baxter.

Don’t go in the basement …………..

All his books are great and he reads them really well if you like audiobooks. I think this one is my least favourite as it goes.

About 50% of the characters are unlikeable, but it's good anyway 😀

IAmKerplunk · 16/09/2026 21:29

I’d love that house though!

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/09/2026 21:31

Getting rid of the body. Really

It is a bit farcical. Still enjoying it though 🙈 I feel Denise Welch pretty much plays the same character in every show she is in!

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/09/2026 22:15

I was right. Wasn’t her body

Aren’t they just! Will be binging this, Prof T, and final episode of Ludwig this weekend as everyone is away and I’m away next week, so will avoid threads and not spoil.

Loving it. They're all brilliant and ghastly at the same time. Haven't read the book but loved Holding.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/09/2026 22:31

It’s the usual cheesy acting but love it

I've watched episode 1 and most of the characters are extremely unlikeable

Kipperandarthur · 18/09/2026 13:51

It’s quite bad but watchable at the same time.

I wondered whether to stick with it. Thinking I will.

Mischance · 19/09/2026 09:24

I have read several Norton books expecting them to bevrrashy but they are not.
I have watched the whole of Forever Home and there is some clever plotting with unexpected twists.

Mischance · 19/09/2026 09:24

Be trashy ...

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/09/2026 16:52

Recaps aren’t happening

I'm having to stream everything now as we got a new Virgin Media box which doesn't work. (The old one worked well but needed updating.) I was recording it before. What episode are we on tonight so I can stream it?

the80sweregreat · 21/09/2026 20:26

It’s episode four tonight at 9 pm.
It’s six parts.

Tobacco · 21/09/2026 20:41

Thanks.

Bloodysauce · 21/09/2026 20:54

I enjoyed 'Holding' and I also like this. Unfairly, I expected them to be fair but not great as written by ubiquitous celebrity Graham but he can write a story. I'm impressed by both. Thanks Graham.

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/09/2026 22:06

So not a lot happened in 4 imo

apart from mummy Coming back

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/09/2026 22:07

Frostbite. Surely an good coroner should be able to tell body was frozen due to how the blood congeals or something

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/09/2026 22:15

Tho looks like she may not be giving baby up and it’s all a con as her partner seems happy .attached to baby
