Shows I have loved: Leonard and Hungry Paul, Marcel The Shell With Shoes On, Billy and Molly: An Otter Love Story.
Any recommendations?

Death In Paradise is good. Quite funny in places too. (I fell in love with Harry...IYKYK!)

Film - Mrs Harris goes to Paris. Or there is the film Edie, love that film.

cheesychipsontheoche · 21/07/2026 22:12

Ted Lasso for sure.
also Early Doors if it’s still on iPlayer. Funny and moving in equal measure

IAmKerplunk · 21/07/2026 22:31

Five Bedrooms. Loved it. It’s on Apple now so I can’t rewatch it

Foundress · 21/07/2026 22:39

I really liked Alma’s Not Normal but I wouldn’t class it as wholesome. I am surprisingly enjoying Best Medicine on Sky. It’s the American version of Doc Martin.

TheGospelAccordingToMe · 21/07/2026 23:32

Thank you again for the suggestions, my watchlist is growing!
I have Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime if that helps, no Apple TV (though I am sure others are grateful for the suggestions!)

I'm sorry though, I'm now 3 into Detectorists and just not feeling it 🙁

Lurleene · 21/07/2026 23:39

Film wise have you seen The Ballad of Wallis Island? A little British gem by Tim Key and Tom Basden (from Here We Go).

DPotter · 22/07/2026 00:14

The Good Place and The Residence, both on Netflix

Film Wise, again on Netflix The Six Triple Eight.

Then there's Hidden Numbers - think tha's on Amazon Prime

Shangrilalala · 22/07/2026 00:21

The Madison - gorgeous scenery too

Firefly Lane

HauntedRavioli · 22/07/2026 03:23

Another for Ann Droid!

cloudtreecarpet · 22/07/2026 12:50

Little House on the Prairie on Netflix definitely.
Virgin River at first but the last series' were a bit silly.

Investing in Apple TV or just having it when there is a deal on would be worth it though - Ted Lasso, Shrinking, Our Friends & Neighbours, Trying are all brilliant.
Plus there are others
