Who will be the champion? Will Andre and Tim muzzle AC?

Will Eva Asderaki Moore muzzle the spectator in the crowd?

It's all coming to an end<sob>.

Or Cliff RIchard................................😧

Oh- they will, won't they?
In one of his new fancy snake-skin jackets.

I'll allow Mac to do something , with Oasis. That would get tongues wagging in SW19.

The day I was there they had an orchestra playing by one of the cafe areas. That feels very in keeping with Wimbledon.

(They were playing the James Bond theme but still, it was a proper orchestra!)

Fizzywinegum · 13/07/2026 08:48

I like how you played the Wimbledon theme tune to your dog Raahh Grin

I dread to think what the BBC will do about modernising Wimbledon - probably more people in the bunker! They seemed very keen on analysis this year - I just want someone competent and who knows a bit about tennis doing the commentary

I might write to someone about the lack of closing theme tune - please no Cliff Richard Shock

I’m feeling strangely lost today - don’t quite know what to do with myself!

squashyhat · 13/07/2026 09:02

Does anyone know if Andrew Cotter will be part of the clean sweep? I do hope not. I know he does other things but he's th best commentator by a long way. I love his accent and his dry remarks.

No , Andrew Cotter is being promoted to do the finals, from what I could gather. He's one of my favourites too.

Oh that's great! I hope he brings Olive and Mabel. All those balls to chase Grin

An orchestra would be good.
But it would probably be playing Abba. Or the Spice Girls. Hmm.

Katie and Alex got married yesterday. They obviously knew that neither of them were going to make it to the finals!

magimedi · 13/07/2026 09:40

Also love Andrew Cotter (our new AC?!) And Sam Smith - great commentator.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 13/07/2026 09:41

I just saw the other thread about Zverev I had no idea!

Blue Monday - where’s my Tennis ?!!!

There's optimism for you Grin
I did wonder what date they had set- I half wondered if it was next weekend.

Yes, I like Sam. I will miss Jo Durie- she might not be everyone's favourite, but she does know what she's talking about , and I feel she was probably pushed to retire due to her age (but I'm glad she made her own announcement ).

There are so many ACs- Annabel is and AC too Grin. I don't know how much longer she will be kept around. She really isn't that great at the on-court stuff. Gigi Salmon on Sky/TNT is so much better, and has a great rapport with the likes of Tim and Laura.

Is having a great rapport with Tim a recommendation??

I'm an AC! Every time someone posts negatively about the other AC I have a little moment Grin

Can't believe Wimbledon is over, what am I going to do?

IceandIndigo · 13/07/2026 11:06

Congratulations to Alex and Katie. Their wedding looks very low-key, unlike some other recent tennis weddings, no spread in Vogue!

Fizzywinegum · 13/07/2026 11:37

Congratulations to Alex and Katie! A lot of tennis players seem to get married around Wimbledon time - hopefully they’ll both enjoy a little rest from tennis

I’m feeling a little bereft - so far I’ve been on a walk and done some gardening - not sure if I’m ready for 250 tennis but I might be as the week goes on - tennis really is relentless - not that long til the US Open!

Raahh · 13/07/2026 13:57

I've seen pictures of Linda and Jannik at the ball. They look great- very colour co-ordinated. Grin. I bet it's still sinking in for Linda.

I’ve seen the pictures as well Raahh - they look as if they’re having a good time - the dance doesn’t look too awkward!

The dance didn't , did it? Looked like they were enjoying it.

I've just read that Medvedev, Felix AA and Lehecka have all split with their coaches.
In the cases of Felix and Jiri, they had been with them since they were teenagers, so I'm not sure what prompted the sudden changes- they both seemed to be doing well.

Thomas Johansson had been withDaniil a year. That's a long time to be with Daniil Grin, but they were successful, after he had a couple of title free years.

JaneJeffer · 13/07/2026 15:02

I think Felix was very disappointed when he went out of Wimbledon. Not sure he can blame his coach for that.

Stan is playing doubles in Gstaad and bantering with the crowd.

They have them pretty much every day in week 2. Not sure about "proper orchestra", its a school band. They are very good, for kids, albeit a bit heavy on the beat sometimes, bless them.

This was just the legal wedding. They have a big fancy party planned in Spain.... possibly with a magazine deal?
