I bet AC is so gutted thst he’s not commentating on the big matches this year - he would have really gone to town on Arthur Fery - interviewing the neighbours, going through his bins, telling us what his girlfriend’s brother was studying at uni etc etc

In fact I think the heat must be getting to me - I did quite miss a bit of AC’s gossipy commentary the other night when they were just talking about stats and analysis (this is probably similar to when I once felt sorry for Djok and then instantly regretted it!)

Ahh, yes, that brief period in 2017/18 when we felt sorry for Djok. That came back to bite us .

To be fair, all the other commentators are doing a great job of reminding us about Fery's college career (same college as Mac you know if you weren't paying attention the first umpteen times), that his parents are French, that his mother used to play , blah blah.

It's a Fery-tale,, dontch know .

And today - we will get all that, interspersed with ' long levers' '6ft 6' and 'horror injury of '22'
because he's playing Sascha.

I was listening to 6-Love-6 the other evening and a lady rang in to say that Arthur looks like a young Gary Barlow, which is what I said last week. Tim was.....yes, I can see that! And was then trying to find photos of GB on his phone to show Mac

It was funny on 6-0-6- they were all taking credit for Arthur , Marion, because of his parents, Tim (because he's also mostly British) and Mac, because of Stanford.

And they appeared to be conducting the interview outside on a picnic table.

Obviously Mac's knowledge of British 90s music was more Brit Pop than the boyband stuff Take That! were up to .

'Back for Good' was a hit in the US. I remember that. Was the only one though.

I thought that Arthur had a bit of a look of a very young Hugh Grant - I think it’s when he’s being interviewed without his cap on and he’s got floppy hair and a posh voice

Before Hugh got old and fell asleep in the royal box I don’t think I’ve seen him this year - maybe he’s been banned!

I'm sure I saw photos of him arriving at Wimbledon this year because it was the day before or after Taylor Swift's wedding and I thought his travel plans were extremely tight and well managed (by one of his assistants, no doubt )

Saw a big crowd of people and thought it must be something exciting going on… it was Djok warming up.

I’m probably going to miss most of the tennis today or tomorrow as we’re going away camping for the weekend - not the best timing but the only weekend that worked for everyone unfortunately. We should be back in time for the final on Sunday though. I will be relying on this thread to keep me informed of all the important things.

Arthur is such a cool customer - I really don’t know how this match is going to go - I don’t think he’s come up against anyone with such a big serve as Zverev yet

Arthur is so impressive the way he handles himself and is responding to being in the spotlight.
