One of the downsides to the good weather/having a roof on two courts , is that we've got to the second week, and by Wednesday it was all caught up by early evening.
At one time, there were still late evening epics happening at this stage.
I'm sure the organisers are happy (but it means I have had to do other things ).

Yes exactly. And playing over the middle weekend, remember when the middle Saturday only had play if they were behind and it was called the people's Saturday and the tickets were up for grabs and there was never any play on the middle Sunday it was a DAY OFF! And this Wednesday was usually all the men's quarters and it was just like a monumental gorging on tennis, it was the best day of the year.
But like you, @Raahh , here I am doing other things and I feel bereft and all wrong.

We've got a baby seagull stranded in our garden though and I'm feeding him on salmon. I'll phone a wildlife rescue tomorrow but meanwhile I'm thinking of calling him Flavio. Or maybe Jannik? 🤔

I'm going to the men's semis tomorrow, will be cheering (loudly) for Arthur and Jannik. I saw that the Jannik/Djok match is the second one, which seems surprising given they had an extra day's rest.

I think you’re right about who will be in the women’s final ice. I don’t actually mind who goes through although Coco already has a slam so would be nice for one of the others so win it. I suspect that both Sinner and Djok wanted the later match as it might be (slightly) cooler later on - they will have had a lot of rest though

Yes, I think usually the semi that has had an extra day is scheduled first but what's the betting Gladys asked to play second The BBC probably wanted Arthur in that late afternoon/early evening slot for viewing figures aswell.

This is the only tennis thread on MN. I generally enjoy reading the chat but giving Djokovic names like Gladys spoils it. Maybe I’ve misunderstood and the thread isn’t for people like me who can see the good points in most.

This thread is for everyone derxa - there aren’t too many Djok fans here but as far as I’m concerned everyone is welcome whoever they support

Kazza yes not quite the players I was hoping for (except for Jannik, who I expected to make it to this stage), but it should be a great atmosphere. I’ve been trying to work out if my seats will be in the shade as it’s going to be hot again tomorrow. I think they should be.

I think the thing with this thread @derxa is that it runs throughout the tennis year not just Wimbledon so the regular posters have in jokes and shorthand and it can feel a tad excluding. Just keep on posting and support whoever you want
