So the 'Who Killed Theo' saga carries on. I think we should find out who it is soon... Fit Kit and Swain are on the case still. (For what its worth!) 😆

Poor Sam has been sectioned, and is quite unwell, and has been diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Gary and Sarah are in cahoots about something, (related to Theo's death, I think.) Oh, and Maria thinks they're having an affair.

Some random lads are chasing and threatening Brodeh. Who knows why!

Ma Driscoll has been quiet for a while.

Will is still sneakily staying in touch with Megan Trainer!

Alya's cousin Idris (who has never been mentioned before AFAIK) has appeared on the street, and has been seeing Leanne.

Carl, Kevin, and dishy Ronnie have buried the hatchet (for now! Hopefully it lasts!)

And what is Jodie going to do with Carl's gun?!

Sorry if I've missed anything!

So she was imagining Dylan in that vest ?

Does she love the Stan Ogden look?

I’m sorry to laugh when we’re talking about something so serious but 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I felt sorry for poor Amy having to listen to her mum going on about how Ross was 'delicious'

I did laugh when Amy said "You've gendered your cream horn".

I agree with @Empress13 that Tracy is doing it to spite Cassie. There's another storyline from the life of a lesser spotted character. My friend, at the time, started showing an interest in a guy who had done v bad things to me and I tried to warn her that he was a bad un but she turned on me in a very uncouth manner. I know not how it turned out for her.

The thing I found a little odd about the Betsy/Dylan thing is Dylan using the word consensual. It doesn't feel natural but I don't know anyone of that age well enough to speak about such matters so maybe it's the way of the youth nowadays.

I like Christina's blue and white top.

Deadringer · 17/07/2026 10:46

It's nice to see some of the cast showing they can act, Lisa, Betsy, Dylan, even Shaun can pull it out of the bag with a decent script and dialogue. Shaun makes me laugh when it comes to Dylan, no matter what someone says he has done, 'how dare you accuse him, my Dylan is a good lad.' Then 'Dylan, did you do it?'

the80sweregreat · 17/07/2026 10:48

Who is Dylan’s mum?
I guess parents do this don’t they, stick up for their offspring at first , then the questions later !
He was good yesterday I thought.
Poor Betsy though , when you’re young you think your invincible.

thenightsky · 17/07/2026 10:51

Dylan's mum is Violet, ex Rovers Return barmaid who asked Sean to be a sperm donor for her. She went off to live in that there London with Jamie Baldwin.

the80sweregreat · 17/07/2026 10:56

That there london ! I love how they describe London!

I would treat it more seriously if Corrie did.

As is often the case for these plots they pull out all the stops for one episode, do it well then the next one we have Swain shouting the odds about her daughter's sex life in the local cafe.

I like the scenes between Sean and Dylan, they are the only good scenes Sean has these days. The rest of the time it is camp acid comments and flouncing off throwing a tea towel over his shoulders

Wishimaywishimight · 17/07/2026 11:07

Weren't Violet and Jamie a couple in real life? I seem to remember that.

I think Betsy is fantastic. I remember visiting my aunt in hospital after she had had a major stroke and her speech was very much like Betsy's.

The whole 'choking' thing is bizarre (to me!), what on earth do they get out of it? I do wonder a little if this is not going to 'encourage' (not the right word) curious people to try it out though.

As horrible as the Besty storyline is (and it is truly awful), my heart did sink when I realised it's going to be wall-to-wall Swain for months now.

Yes can’t stand her

like Ryan though

thenightsky · 17/07/2026 11:54

Ryan is such a lovely lad.

zanahoria · 17/07/2026 12:40

Swain would be more bearable if she could occasionally do something right, instead of believing everything obvious wrong'uns tell her, interviewing witnesses in their houses in front of family members or other randoms, locking up the wrong people, telling Carla she cannot discuss police business then doing precisely that two seconds later and broadcasting it in the pub or cafe.

the80sweregreat · 17/07/2026 13:18

Most police officers I’ve ever met are very tight lipped and give nothing away. Both are retired and still like it. Some things your trained to do in your job do hang over into normal life too. Not in Lisa’s case it seems.

WiddlinDiddlin · 17/07/2026 13:43

I do hope that we're being taken down the 'both kids thought this breathe play/erotic asphyxiation thing was safe and normal and both consented' route and not just paint Dylan as an abuser...

It's pretty well documented that it heightens arousal and orgasm - not for everyone obviously - people have been doing it in one format or another for 100s of years, probably a lot longer (they just weren't writing about it!).

Unfortunately it's become so mainstream and the risks aren't discussed, and of course there are then people consenting where they would not had they known the risks.

JewelleryCat · 17/07/2026 14:03

I’m watching something called the hairdresser mysteries on bbc1 and Daisy is in it

TheignT · 17/07/2026 14:54

Tracy has developed a bizarre attraction to fat blokes in terrible wigs, not to mention a weird desire to have sex with them in an overcrowded house where her father, daughter and ex-husband live.

Yes that's pretty weird.

TheignT · 17/07/2026 14:55

zanahoria · 16/07/2026 21:37

I don't know much about this sex strangling stuff but fairly it is not the sort of thing Swain should be shouting about in the cafe.

Not as a police officer and not as a mother

Yes poor Betsy I'm sure it's not what she wants everyone talking about.

Same here. I don't mind Betsy, but her storyline means wall to wall Swain, who is already a constant presence due to the Theo killing. I can't stand Swain so I'm having yet another break from watching.

He is certainly no Tommy O but he had Cassie throwing herself at him too

To be fair to Cassie she was drunk. Not sure what Tracey's excuse is. If she's really crawling all over him and sleeping with him in Kens house just to get one over on Cassie that's a new low.

It's drummed into them at school. Mt GSs would say it.

Yes Cassie was off her face drunk. And nothing happened. And she wants Steve anyway. So she’s not going to be jealous of Tracy, just irritated that he’s still around.

Triskellion75 · 17/07/2026 15:36

@JMSA I ugly cried when that poor boy asked for his mum. Proper, full on sobbing.

My DSs are a tiny bit older (19 and 21) they definitely talk about consent. And I randomly remind them of the importance of being safe etc. I used the Betsy storyline to make sure they knew choking was dangerous, they both said "well duh" so I guess they know. I have no idea if they are sexually active, and don't want to. But I just remind them every so often.

That sounds really weird but that's the type of relationship we have!

LesserSpottedCharacter · 17/07/2026 16:47

It doesn't sound weird at all @HaddyAbrams , it's good that you can talk about things like that with them. And right!
