Looks like the old thread is ending and I had a Jannik-panic Grin.

Score checking- Big Foe is 2 sets down to Faria.

I’ve just watched episode 2 as well Raahh

Djok at the end did look very ominous and Beelzebub like

He did- and he does not come across well in episode 3. I mean, there's only a year between them- so no-one can make the excuse he was young. So was Rafa. In the early years of their rivalry, he's an utter knob- and at that time, I don't think people bought his 'injury' time outs either, from the comments made. They viewed him as a clown bit of an idiot. He was always alway retiring when losing.

Yes I remember him always retiring - he was notorious for it (and doing silly impressions of other players)

I’ll save episode 3 for another day - it’s quite intense - it’s interesting that Rafa’s team didn’t seem to want him to keep playing in 2024 but Rafa himself did - it’s as if he didn’t really know what else to do other than play even though his body wasn’t up to it

Raahh · Yesterday 21:44

I don't like episode 3, so far it feels like a collection of his losses to Djok .

No, he couldn't let go,

I wonder if now, with his boys, and a change in focus, he might realise he could have really caused long term damage? He probably does.

I’ve been out so missed quite a bit of the tennis - just catching up now

Good to see that Matteo won - I’ve got a good feeling about him this tournament (I’ve definitely jinxed him now!)

Not sure that I can get excited about Felix and Nakashima but everyone is probably watching the footy anyway

The fireworks went off during thr match, loads of cheers. Someone wearing an arsenal shirt that wax picked out on the camera and then one with a PSG top was cheered.

A fantastic show from Take That last night! Belinda Carlisle still looks stunning! The Script also supported. Trying to catch up on all the tennis news.

ChessieFL · Today 10:50

Glad you enjoyed it kazza!

ChessieFL · Today 11:11

Marta has taken the first set against Iga. It’s been a close match though. Sorana seems to be having an easier time in her match.

Raahh · Today 11:12

Kazza that sounds great. Belinda Carlisle!

I'm on episode 4 nowof the Rafa doc- it's dealing a lot with 2015, and that period when nothing seemed to go right. It's interesting to hear him admit it was anxiety- it always felt it was more a mental block, that just physical issues at the time.
And 'demoting' Uncle Toni.

Raahh · Today 11:14

And Iga has lost the first set to Kostyuk.

OP posts:
Raahh · Today 11:40

Marta is ahead in the second set- they are trading breaks though.
Iga is all over the place.

Sorana Cirstea should have announced she was retiring years ago- it's done her game the world of good Grin

OP posts:
Raahh · Today 11:49

Well done Marta- an upset, but not that surprising. She's been playing well all season.

OP posts:
ChessieFL · Today 11:50

And now Iga is out. Well done Marta but I am disappointed for Iga.

Raahh · Today 11:51

I may have jumped the gun with Cirstea, the second set in that match has turned.

OP posts:
IceandIndigo · Today 11:52

Goodness, what an implosion from Iga. The first set was a great battle. Well done to Marta.

Raahh · Today 11:53

I'm disappointed for Iga too- this feels like it's her tournament. I don't really want Aryna to win. I would like to see maybe Andreeva get to the final, Potapova has been playing very well.

OP posts:
ChessieFL · Today 12:00

I would love to see Mirra win her first slam but not sure if she’s strong enough to beat Aryna.

IceandIndigo · Today 12:00

I don't really want Aryna to win either Raahh. I also think there's a pretty good chance either Marta or Elina gets to the final and I don't want a Belarus vs Ukraine final.

No, Madrid was awkward when it was Mirra and Marta. Mirra didn't even stick around for any pictures. I don't want to see that again.

OP posts:
ChessieFL · Today 12:12

No, that wasn’t a nice atmosphere.

Raahh · Today 12:13

Aryna plays Naomi next- and although I am finding the fashion sideshow farcical, I think Naomi has a bigger chance than many to beat Aryna- though this is the furthest she has gone at RG.

I wanted to watch the Jodar match, but need to go out for a bit, hopefully not for too long.

Belinda has started well against Elina. I like Belinda a lot, so I would be very happy to see her win this.

OP posts:
Raahh · Today 12:43

I've jinxed Belinda.

PCB is playing unreal, he’s moving better than Rafa who is almost young enough to be his son.
