We're well into Spring 2026 now. CORONATION STREET THREAD. **No spoilers please.**

Can't believe we're on a new thread already. Filling up so fast these days!

Brief summary:

Todd has finally left the dreadful Theo, (after he badly beat up Todd,) but Theo is not keen on leaving him alone (although he has been told to by the police.)

Carla and Lisa (Swain) are planning on getting married very shortly.

Carl has been trying to extort money out of Summer for information, as he knows Theo killed Billy. (Summer knows this now too as Theo cornered her in the shop and told her as much, threatening to 'bury her too.') Summer is - very sensibly - not giving Carl a penny until Theo is arrested!

The ghastly Megan (Trainer) seems to have vanished, so Sam is relatively safe for now, but Sam has been having hallucinations and keeps seeing Will there - coming at him - when Will is nowhere near. Toyah, Leanne, and Eva have tricked Megan into meeting her (by sending a text from the burner phone Megan gave Will, and pretending to be Will...) Not sure what they're going to do when they meet her!

Ben Driscoll has just found out the man he knew as dad is not his bio father, and Jim McDonald is actually his father (so he is.)

The effervescent Debbie is declining a little bit more by the week, but is still in fighting spirit, and is seeing Carl for the parasite he really is. The gorgeous Ronnie is always by her side. Carl has just decided to cause a flood in Debbie's hotel by leaving the taps running in one of the rooms, after she told him he was very difficult to love, and refused to let him have half the hotel after he threatened to report Ronnie to the police for hitting him.

Shona's annoying sister Jodie is causing trouble all over the place! She's stolen Lisa's police badge, and a girl she uses to be a nanny for has turned up. Jodie is not happy about this!

Probably a bit more is happening, but I'm sure it will come up soon.

Kind of agree. They sounded OK together, pleasant enough, but weren't great individually. Siobhan left in 1988, and got together with Marcella Detroit to create Shakespears Sister, but Marcella was definitely the best singer. Siobhan was quite dire!

I do actually quite like a few Bananarama songs, but DH bought their 'Best Of' album/CD some years ago, with 28 songs on it. (2 CDs-14 on each one...) Honestly, every single song sounded the same! 😆 We put CD1 on, and whilst I enjoyed the first 6-7 tracks, by track 11, I changed it to a 1990s R & B mix album! I was getting bored of the same sound, and every song sounding like the last 😬

Jennifer Saunders , Dawn French and Kathy Burke did a charity record with the Bananas ( Help!) ( for comic relief)
It was funny. The group played it straight , but the others didn’t.

Bananarama did sound the same. I liked a few of their songs, but was never a huge fan. They just had catchy numbers.
They used to throw themselves around the stage a lot.

True but they kinda knew it and were not pretentious, always came across as three young women having fun.

I loved the ones they did with the Fun Boy Three

Who would they be on Corrie?

Peter could have been a decent Terry Hall

I loved Terry Hall ! One of my favorite 80s singers.
He died a few years ago , I was upset. He had a hard life.

I really liked this from TotP

Bananarama's singing is poor but they had done every little at that point. Terry Hall who had just left the Specials had seen them in a magazine and thought the look they had was just what his new group needed for the song. They later admitted they did not really know what they were doing and had made their own clothes, did their own hair etc. They got a lucky break and built a career from it.

I’ve just looked at next weeks tv guide online .. every day mentions one of the victims in that days storyline 🤔

I think we only find out the victim at the end of next week.
I originally thought it was today. I can't take another week of it, I think I'll come back when it's all over!

Sounds like they’re perhaps going to do a “what happened to X on that night” each night and a grand reveal at the end of the week? It had better be worth it! To be fair, they’ve done well dragging this out since Debbie’s wedding!

I loved Bananarama as a kid. No they weren’t top singers, or dancers, but they were cool and they really enjoyed themselves! Apparently could drink anyone under the table!

Someone mentioned it at the end of the old thread and no one has mentioned it since..
But I also noticed the big dribble of blood coming from the back of Carls head .

It didn't seem to be staining his short though, so maybe old scar /scab ?

Surely, it would still have a dressing on though ?

Carls 'gay ' mocking of Theo was very funny though.

I could cope with Carl staying and being bad boy turned good ...but also needing an eye on !

Most soaps always have some character they don't want to cross ..but always have some hint of a redeeming feature ! 😁😁

Next week sounds like what they did for the big Joel reveal .

At that time we were only on 3 x 1 hour episodes.

They changed it that week to 5 x 30 mins !
It was very exciting 🤣..
Now look at us moaning again!

To be fair that filming of the Joel ' day / evening ' was well done I thought .

Ah yes .. like each night of the week ‘personal day’ episode, then a grand reveal. They did that on emmerdale, can’t remember what about though. Makes sense. Annoying though!

@bizzey yeah I mentioned the bleed from Carl’s head that no one noticed or mentioned of the many people he spoke to in the pub

now I’m no fan of Carl but I would have told him he was bleeding from the back of his head

Oh and Carla looked better in her sparkly top then she did her wedding suit

I didn’t like Lisa’s bodice on her dress

Will it be Theo shoved off the scaffolding? When did the scaffolding go up?

I don't like Carla or Lisa but thought they both looked lovely.

The women looked lovely. I liked Lisa’s dress.
Roys speech was gorgeous.

I loved how Lisa heard the scream and they thought it was a fox. It was obviously Betsy.
