It will be a tough decision to abandon his home tournament

It would be- hopefully he won't need to.

Raahh · 10/05/2026 18:52

Glad to see Darderi has leveled the match against Tommy Paul. I really don't like Tommy Paul Grin.

Bublik was going well against Tien, but lost the second set, and Tien is now about to serve for the match in the 3rd (Sasha has just served an underarm serve, which gives some indication of how he's feeling).

Raahh · 10/05/2026 18:57

Sasha back in it.

Crowd are getting very loud Grin

Raahh · 10/05/2026 19:07

Tading breaks at the end of this set- but Tien could be about to take it.

Raahh · 10/05/2026 19:10

And he does.
Well done Learner.

Meanwhile, Darderi is close to going 4-0 up in the 3rd set.

And Iga could be about to win 6-1 6-0.

Raahh · 10/05/2026 19:18

Well done Iga.

Come on Luciano!

Raahh · 10/05/2026 19:27

Forza! Luciano.

I am so pleased.

Raahh · 10/05/2026 20:08

Good start for NuRafa.

Raahh · 10/05/2026 20:15

Good start for NuRafa.

Raahh · 10/05/2026 20:21

I obviously thought it was such a good start, I posted it twice.

I'm faving trouble with MN tonight for some reason. It could just be me.

Raahh · 10/05/2026 20:24

Of course now, Arnaldi gets a break Grin

Raahh · 10/05/2026 20:42

Arnaldi seems to be fighting back in the second set.

Raahh · 10/05/2026 21:15

Arnaldi is fighting hard for this second set- he has the break.
Could go to 3 ...

Raahh · 10/05/2026 21:19

Second set Arnaldi (clearly doesn't know I don't do late nights ) Grin
Vamos! NuRafa!

Raahh · 10/05/2026 21:27

Arnaldi is on a roll now.

Raahh · 10/05/2026 21:30

NuRafa race through the first set, but things have not gone his wat since the latter end of the second.

Raahh · 10/05/2026 21:51

Back on serve now, after Arnaldi looked like he was in charge.

Could still go either way.

Raahh · 10/05/2026 22:01

Vamos NuRafa!

I thought he might lose it, for a minute there.

Well done to Arnaldi too, he fought hard.

Raahh · 10/05/2026 22:04

He really is so lovely- looks so young Grin
I feel like he's been around for ages already- but he's been on my radar hardly any time at all.
Arnaldi is a good player.

Plays Tien next- that will be a big one.

IceandIndigo · 11/05/2026 08:51

I didn't get to watch much tennis over the weekend, although I did see last night's match between NuRafa and Matteo Arnaldi. It was a really good match. It seemed like Rafa was going to completely run away with it at first, but Matteo played really smart tennis to get back into it, and at the beginning of the third set it really seemed like he might win. Well done to Rafa for not blinking. It will be interesting to see how he goes against Learner. On clay, I think he might have the edge.

Glad to see Casper through in what looked like a pretty comfortable scoreline.

Raahh · 11/05/2026 09:14

Ice yes, he did well to keep going- he wasn't affected by the crowds (who got noisier as the match went on). He seems to be able to work out what he needs to do as he goes along.
The Tien match ought to be a good one. I think they have met in the Next Gen finals, but that's obviously a different format, and indoors.

Andrey and ADF are first up on the SuperTennis arena this morning. I feel like it is a bit early in the morning for both of them Grin. Has potential to get a bit fiesty- if they are awake enough.

I might actually get to see Daniil today, after his walkover the other day. He plays Llamas-Ruiz , a qualifier. Pablo could cause an upset, or Daniil could end up going on another fluke run in Rome Grin.

@Raahh How is your DH??

Love all the tennis commentary - it's a great way to keep in touch.

magimedi · 11/05/2026 09:36

@Raahh How is your DH??

Love all the tennis commentary - it's a great way to keep in touch.

He's ok, thank you magi. He's home, and has a heart monitor (which we had to buy Hmm) just in case of any other incidents. Fortunately, we are minutes from the hospital in case of any other emergencies. Plus, he works from home, which helps.

He's a really irritating patient, though Grin

IceandIndigo · 11/05/2026 10:33

Holger will no longer attempt to play Hamburg and RG, and will instead attempt to return for grass season. I'm sure it's the right decision.

Fizzywinegum · 11/05/2026 10:57

Glad to hear that your DH is doing OK Raahh

I didn’t get to see much tennis over the weekend either - I got momentarily excited when they said that Rafa Jodar would be playing later (yesterday)- it really does sound like they’re saying Rafa Nadal!

Hope that Musetti is OK for his next match Sad

Just watching a bit of Rublev/ADF - ADF definitely doesn’t like early starts - I think he’s complained about them in the past - poor thing Grin
